A weird fact about yourself

Almost identical. Mine had a black interior and old school slotted aluminum rims.

Beautiful car. My uncle still has a GTO with the judge package. He bought it new. Less than 100k miles on it.

Have lots of weird things about me honestly. One of the only ones that i have asked family members or friends about, and they dont do:

When i am reading a book that interests me,certain authors in particular, afer the first page or 2 i dont have to read anymore. My subconscious? Mind takes over, like blinking my eyes or my heart beating automatically, and i just relax and watch the movie painted by my mind. With a descriptive author, my internal movie is far more defined than any motion picture movie. Science fiction, like Heinlein and Asimov, fantasy like Tolkien and Robert Jordan(my favorite, dragon reborn) scary/weird King , etc...i just watch the movie for hours. Not uncommon to start "reading" after supper and "wake up" at 2 or 3 AM. Dont consciously turn pages, mentally i am not even present where my body is. It is probably the most enjoyable thing that i do...and unfortunately it never worked with textbooks etc...only works of fiction where a good author can immerse you in the world they have imagined. My favorite series ever is by Robert Jordan, the Wheel of time series. Sadly, he is dead now. Terry Brooks is similar but not quite as good, Heinlein and Asimov are the old masters, and imagined and wrote about some of the technology of today 60 years ago..anyway, even if i am the only weirdo on earth that is this way, I am thankful for it, and the few master wordsmiths that can spin a tale that will take me on trips to places far away, without ever actually leaving home.

I can do this too. I’ll read like 3-4 pages and flip the pages and then realize I didn’t catch a word or understand a word it and have to rewind it back

I get immersed in reading, but the only time I've ever watched what I was reading was a war scene in one of the Twilight books.

My wife had a sister named Linda Carol. While crossing the road, a car struck and killed her on August 17, 1959. My baby sister's name is Linda Carol. She was born on August 17, 1959. My wife and I freaked out when we discovered this coincidence.
My dad and his brother both were born on August 17, although they were born in 1930 and 1932.

My maternal grandfather was born in 1888. I had malaria and it seriously sucks.

I'm fascinated with returning to this thread to see if I'm actually weird.

I can find 4-leaf clovers like nobody's business. I just see them constantly when walking around. Also, rain drops have trouble hitting me. I can be walking next to someone while it's pouring and they'll be soaked while i have just a few drops on me.

My son has had a knack for finding 4 leaf clovers since he was about 4 or 5. Its crazy

Too bad all that luck you bank finding four leaf clovers gets used up dodging raindrops.

Since I was a boy, I have been unable to just go to bed and sleep. My mind will not shut off and I will lay there literally all night working through any and all problems and scenarios around work, finances and just life related issues. It is a major pain but actually productive and helps me map the next steps. To combat this, I have always had to clear my mind in the evening. Mostly playing tactical war games or Chess. I remember as a boy reading through civil war or WW2 books every night, studying the tactical maps and aspects of the battle descriptions just to clear my mind and focus on something else as I fell to sleep.

Also, I have 5 reoccurring dreams that I have been having since childhood. These 5 dreams are the only dreams that I wake up remembering when they occasionally occur. Funny part is, subconsciously when one of these dreams starts it is like I turned on a TV to a movie I have watched many times. I always recall thinking in my head, "oh it's this one tonight". It's like catching Tombstone late at night and just settling in to watch it even when you know ever line.

Yep, I know... I am a whole bucket of WTF...

Be safe,

CH_V

Same on being able to not fall asleep. I have found starting the dream and focusing on what's in it sometimes helps.

I graduated high school in 1984, went to college for a year and dropped out. Went back in 2002 and got my associates. Going back this fall for my bachelors. Guess I enjoy long breaks.
Good for you! What are you getting your degree in?

Workforce management or something like that. Honestly, it looked like the simplest one to finish. My company offers tuition reimbursement and they are pressing everyone to have at least a bachelors. My associates is in computer network systems technology. May as well get it over with.
