A weird fact about yourself

I put all of my paper money facing the right side up and in incremental order, especially in my wallet. When people hand me money, I do this before putting it in my wallet.
I do that too, i thought it was pretty normal. My coworker doesn't give a shhhh....he'll put wadded up money in his wallet. Drives me nuts.

I do this as well, especially the incremental order. The larger bills are always on the inside. Randomly noticed one time that my grandpa did this as well and asked him why he did. He said it was because if a thief ever saw him holding money, he would only see the singles. Made sense when he explained it that way. Not sure if I subconsciously do it for the same reason or because it just makes it easier to count.
My grandma taught me the exact same thing for the same reasons. Old people are hilarious.

Used to see an old lady at a movie theater who, when paying at the box office, would crowd over her purse very protectively, fumble around in it, then pull out a twenty. She'd slide it through the little window with her hand still flat on the bill and say very loudly, "This is a twenty dollar bill." Only then would she remove her hand. And, of course, she'd stand right there counting her change very carefully before moving on to let the next customer step up. Good stuff.

I have a wad of 50’s and 100’s in the safe and the outer bill is a $2 one. I don’t know who I think I’m fooling if they’ve made it to the safe but clearly that lesson stuck.

When dressing I sit down and dress one leg at a time, pant leg, then sock, then shoe, then tie the shoe. Then do the right leg the same way. My wife tells me that's crazy. Does anyone else do this? It would make me feel better if you said you did even if you didn't.

Is it unusual to be able to control your dreams? I do it frequently. I can be asleep and dreaming, and the thing is, I know I'm dreaming. That's how I take control.

Also, when I was a kid, I would have dreams that came true. I remember one particular dream I had when I was about four. It was so detailed it stuck with me even from that young age. It was about visiting a place with a bunch of kids in uniform. It came true when I was a few years older and visited a Civil War memorial with the Scouts. It was like deja vu when it happened, but it was exactly like my dream. And I had other dreams that came true as well.

I have the same dreams over and over and get pissed knowing I'm doing it again. I can control them after they start but don't know how to prevent them. Every few weeks:
1. Forgot to drop that class and haven't been going.
2. Let a Navy ship run aground.
3. My front teeth have fallen out somehow.
4. I'm playing high school football again because there's some kind of reunion and they need us old guys to play.
5. For some reason I'm riding on the hood of a car and it stops quick and I fall off.

I've also dreamed things that have come true.

I still have the dreams of unpreparedness: walk into a classroom and they’re taking a final; suddenly realize that I have to get some version of family to the airport in time for a flight and no one’s ready, etc. I just dream my way through those, with a faint “Good Lord, not that one again” thought floating in the background.

I also have the pursuit dream, where someone/ something is after me, and it’s foggy or I’ve lost my glasses, and I can get myself out of those. A variant is where I suddenly realize that I’m flying a plane, and in clouds, with no nav instruments, again without glasses. (Until I had Lasik, I was about 20/700-800 and was last able to read the big E on the eye chart when I was 16.) I can usually force myself awake and out of those.

The one that devastates me, fortunately only once every 4-5 years or so, is the end of the world dream. I’m on Earth, or in space, and above/ around me the stars start going out. I can’t wake up from that one, and it truly feels as if my heart has stopped. When it happens, I have to get out of bed and read for 2-3 hours, or it will resume as soon as I fall asleep again. I think it comes from an Arthur C. Clarke story called “The Nine Billion Names of God”, with an overlay of Madeleine L’Engle’s “A Wrinkle in Time”, both of which I read when I was 10. And no, these dreams started WAY before Bread released “If.” 😄

I get the deja vu dreams too

I used to see faces when I closed my eyes trying to go to bed. They would appear, and just fade away to the next. Not like a photo. Then sometimes be there, sometimes not. Always different though. White, Black, Asian, Native American , young, old, all dressed or looked like a person from a certain period of time. The furthest back looked like a man dressed during colonial times. I remember one specific guy who had a civil war era uniform and facial hair and what looked to be the face/bust of a black woman from the mid 1800’s. Also, 1 old man w a shaved head and a little Asian girl. They just float away and that’s it. Pretty weird huh?
Those all stick out in the hundreds or thousands of faces I’ve seen. My mom has had the same thing.

I put my pants, or shorts, on both legs at the same time. I sit down and slide them on.

I don't know if she still does this, but when I was a kid my grandmother would remain in her car after she pulled it into the garage and the garage door came down. She'd pull in the garage, push the button to have the door come down, then once the door shut she'd turn the car off and get out.

When I asked why she did that, she said he was because if someone was hanging around their house waiting to rob her, she wouldn't be in the process of getting out of her car with the garage door still open. Her "plan" was that if someone came up to her car to rob her, she could get out of the garage very quickly while still in her car, even driving out through the garage door if necessary (because remember it would be in the process of coming down). It's as if the thought never occurred to her than an intruder could sneak under the door while it was still on its way down, then come to the car and bust out the window.

It made zero sense to me then, even as a 7-year-old, and is absolutely hilarious to me now.

I sleep eat. Seems to happen more so when I’m under a lot of stress

It’s a crazy feeling to wake up and be drinking a coke while sitting in your recliner. (That I didn’t fall asleep in)

Nope that’s f-ing strange.

Louder has said this also. I tood my wife about it long ago, and she acted like i was insane. I have dreamed the future many times, starting when i was a kid. It never helps, me because i dont see it coming...but when it happens, i know every detail of what is going on around me, and it is surreal.

Science cant explain that one, but it is real

That happens to me occasionally. It's almost like my brain is trying to start dreamimg before I'm asleep.

It’s really strange. Doesn’t happen as often now. Probably because I’m an insomniac.
Freaked me out the first time or two. It rarely happens anymore. It usually happens when I'm exhausted but having trouble getting to sleep anyway. Not sure what causes it though.

I hate pizza. People always tell me that makes me weird. Just never been my thing.
