Abortion Rights

Correct, you offered a very weak example about the relatively tiny amount of individuals that are so upset that they blow up abortion clinics or shoot abortion providers and then, either die in the act, or are quickly apprehended by the authorities where a dispassionate redress, rectification, and retribution occurs, because it is carried out by the third-party state and not the individuals whose loved ones were killed by the bomber or shooter, and, thus, no cycle of vengeance gets off the ground.

Now, maybe you are using this weak example to shout, "See, here! Here is someone who is so upset about the killing of fetus's that they have taken vengeance!"

Sure, but it's an oddity. Like, less than one person does this for one million fetuses killed. Now, were there to be no legal redress if wives were killed by others, would you say the ratio of vengeance seekers to wives killed would be higher or lower than this?

Like, you know, for every one million wives murdered, I could see one husband seeking vengeance, but, not too many more than that...

Or, does that sound absolutely absurd to you?

I'd peg the number at around 8 or 9 husbands seeking vengeance, taking more than just the "one eye" from the murderer, and risking everything they have, including their own lives, to ensure that the person who murdered their wife will suffer unimaginable torment. And, the other 1 or 2 husbands, you ask? They are pansies and the scum of the earth.

You see the difference, right? You can at least grant that there is less of a risk of a cycle of vendetta occurring because abortions are legally allowed than the murder of someone else's wife, right?

I mean, WE ALL SEE THIS, right?!?!?!?

So, yeah, "stupid vengeance argument"...
No, I just offered a hypothetical. I wasn't arguing against anything you've said in the last two posts.

The stupidity isnt there, but in trying to say this is why we should allow a parent to kill their child, since it wont result in vengeance.

It won't. Are you going to the ends of the earth to make your neighbor suffer if they kill their own child?

You mean property

I do, but I can easily grant that I see some property as such that it would be reasonable for someone to kill and impose deep suffering on others over.

That is, sans any legal redress, if someone comes up to my house and breaks my porch light, and then begins to walk off, I probably will not spend the time and the effort to chase the person down. If someone comes up to my house and deliberately kicks my cat, I'm breaking that persons face. If an adult comes up to my house and punches my niece in the face, I'm killing that person with my bare hands (or, I will die trying).

Your retort may be, well, what if it was my sister or her husband who punched my niece (their daughter) in the face? And, you might say, "Gotcha! This is why infanticide should be illegal on your own terms. And, thus, you are very close to saying abortion should be illegal". Yet, you would be wrong. My family ties to my sister are just too strong. I would be disappointed with her and angry with her, but I couldn't be moved, in that situation, to impose any harm on her as an act of vengeance.

Lacking legal redress, the incident would be handled within the family, and it would most likely take the form of strong censure, pleading with her to make amends with us and give her word that she will not strike her daughter again, and, if that fails, ostracize her and exile her from the family. And, this last move would be a last resort because it also punishes us, as she is such a beloved member of the family, even though she has struck her daughter.

Planned Parenthood discriminates against its pregnant employees — I'm not surprised

And yet, according to the Times, a “dozen lawsuits in federal and state courts since 2013 accused managers of denying workers rest periods, lunch breaks, or overtime pay, or retaliating against them for taking medical leave.” Because of such unfair practices, Planned Parenthood employees who become expectant mothers are afraid to tell their managers they are pregnant. Worse still, the Times tells of several employees who were hounded to return to work early or fired while on leave.

Sad and pathetic the mindset against the nurturers of life. I always held my pregnancies as a huge blessing as I was told I would probably never have children. Each one welcomed. To think preganant women are subjected to punishment and stress because they choose to give life instead of eliminating it is sad indeed.
Sounds more like Karma to me actually.

I always find it weird when Brits call a line, like at a register, a que...or a trash can a rubbish bin...or a semi a lorry..there are lots more. Its like in a movie when the alien in disguise that looks just like everyone else suddenly grows an extra limb... "you were this close..."

There's probably a poster in the UK on a Manchester City forum named Curtisluvsmancity who wrote a post saying how weird it is for us to call lorries semis, rubbish bins trash etc...

Thats funny dink...just seems weird that our English and their English are so different when we really havent been over here for that long, and i know that they watch Hollywood movies, etc just like Americans do...i watch BBC as well, but only science stuff or current events, etc...

We are supposed to turn the other cheek, and i wish i were big enough to do so more often, but if i saw someone getting beaten for saying "Jesus loves you"...there would need to be somebody there both willing and able to whip me, too

Eventually people will start fighting back against these antifa democrats, could get ugly especially if the victim has a gun
