Absolute BS to make this comparison!

Cut to the chase...... people could not handle TR today because he got it and he was bluntly honest!

No, that is McCain's 300 million dollar deal.

Isn't McCain offering $300M, not for finding an alternative, but for making an alternative that no one wants better? What good is a car battery that runs for 3 days if no one buys it?

Pretty much. It was and is a stupid idea he threw out. But he is competing against Obama's stupid ideas, so on one notices.

about as good as Obama's plug-in hybrid idea when you consider his energy policy apparently doesn't include any way to generate more power.

Is there anyone out there that can articulate a long range energy plan that American's can really understand and support?

Agreed. Both candidates have their heads in the sand when it comes to a realistic oil dependency solution.

they seem to be like most of us. They, like me, are all for everyone ELSE to give up some things in order to lessen our dependency. They are following the Gore mold.

Our dependency is an issue, but the absolute need to end it is overblown. There is much more oil available than the screaming folk would have us believe.

with the exception of his gas tax holiday farce, McCain's is far more workable and based in something resembling reality.

I must admit, the McCain plan is genius. Move the federal ban on drilling and make it a state issue where it will never get anywhere. It allows him to say he made a change without doing anything to actually fix a problem.

Not sure about that. I would reckon a state would get some good revenue from an oil company getting large sums of oil out of their land.

And I imagine OPEC would come in right behind them and promise a check twice as big if they veto the idea.
