Academy Awards

I saw Slumdog last week, honestly it just seems like a overhyped movie, i would rather watch the youtube Benny Lava vid.

Speaking of Sean Penn is anything familiar with the Sean Penn/Trey Parker Matt Stone from South Park feud that happened after Team America came out? it was entertaining.

Wall-E got best animated film. That's about it.

Slumdog won 8, I believe, and pretty much everything it was up for. Heath got supporting actor which was expected, I supposed. Otherwise, it was Slumdog's night.

I've had it on DVD for a month or two now but haven't watched it. I suppose I should pop it in sometime soon and check it out.

I can't believe Heath Ledger's family didn't talk about drug use and how it affected their family. The crowd gave a standing ovation to the parents of a druggie. It makes me sick to see how hollywood can use their platform to say or do what they want, and get away with. I hate the guy died, he was a great talent, but his family missed an opportunitity to tell the world that drugs can ruin peoples lives.

That's not really what accepting an award should be about. Just because others use it as a platform to lecture and criticize doesn't mean they should.

His prescriptions were all prescribed. Thus the term accidental death.Under the circumstances I don't think calling him a druggie is accurate or fair. That's why his family did not say anything, why would they. I thought they were a class act.I think you missed the boat on this one big time.Save your outrage and superior moral authority for your own and others closer to you who you know well enough to make these kind of outlandish comments.

I felt like the biggest rob was Penelope Cruz winning best supporting actress even though I picked it. Anne Hathaway definitely deserved it for Rachel Getting Married. I also though Wall-E deserved best original screenplay. A lot of people thought that Sean Penn stole Best Actor from Mickey Rourke and I have to disagree. Mickey Rourke was amazing and he was a close second for me but I didn't forget it was Mickey Rourke as where I forgot it was Sean Penn. I think Sean Penn is weird as anything but he deserved it in my opinion.

You guys watch the Academy Awards? :eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Please report to the Man Office tomorrow morning, and turn in your Man Cards. :nono:

PSSSST! The NASCAR race is on.

Watching NASCAR isn't indicative of being a man. I am watching the NBA, but it is actually a real, athletic sport.

Actually I am watching the NBA and flipping over to "Enemy of the State" during breaks.

There are about 20 things I would watch before NASCAR, but the academy awards isn't one of them

In all fairness, Slumdog Millionaire is better than Crash, Million Dollar Baby, A Beautiful Mind, Chicago, and some of the other Best Picture winners in recent past. But there were better movies than those in each of those years and better movies than Slumdog in this year.

i watch the oscars every year. i'm always interested in who comes out with what. nothing "unmanly" about it.

as for the race, nascar has been going downhill for years. it's not fun to watch anymore.
