Academy Awards

In all fairness, Slumdog Millionaire is better than Crash, Million Dollar Baby, A Beautiful Mind, Chicago, and some of the other Best Picture winners in recent past. But there were better movies than those in each of those years and better movies than Slumdog in this year.

Crash and A Beautiful Mind are amazing movies and deserved their accolades. The others mentioned, not so much.

I am surprised anyone still cares that much about Hollywood. Their disconnect with the American public is astounding.

Here are the winners. Ban me for a week if these are wrong.

hell I could have told you that was fake on Saturday if you had linked me.

Crash is peddling, insulting, and chock full of racial stereotypes.

:post-4-1090547912: You should maybe note that the racial stereotypes are there for a reason. That's part of the message...it's not just a movie making fun of different races...

I knew that, and that's what makes it so damn stupid. Complete oscar bait and an insult to anyone with a brain.

Which would you consider better than slumdog this year? Just curious.

Best Original Song - Slumdog Millionare, Jai Ho, A.R. Rahman and Gulzar

Great song

6 of my predicted 6.... how far past will this movie go, the record I believe is 9 by Titanic

Close. (I was looking this up to see if there was a best comedy category or something too :))

The record for most is 11, and it's a 3-way tie between Ben-Hur, Titanic, and LOTR: Return of the King
