According to other fan message boards at this moment

I think it’s coaching malpractice to get a lead then put in your back ups and not run your offense. Why would you waste teaching opportunities just because the other team can’t stop your second team. Our second team goes through all the same training as the starters. Why would we deny them their opportunity to show their talent because you might hurt the loser’s feelings?
You don’t call a good dog back. Just so happens our second string has a bunch of good dogs and they hunted today. Comme ci comme ca.

Everyone hated TN in the 90’s when we dominated. Everyone hated TN when we struggled or outright sucked the last 15 years. We turn the corner this season and rip off 8 straight wins, everyone loved TN surprisingly but that was just an head fake until we got beat by GA. After that we were “overrated” and they all hate TN again.

So it really doesn’t matter what we do, most of college football teams, fans and media will always hate TN, and I gotta say…I love it. They can all EAD. Go Vols!

Cough cough 59-0 against Vanderbilt Cough.

I was replying to the post that everybody does it to Tennessee, not arguing that it's wrong to do it.

The game lasts 60 minutes, play until the final whistle. Backups deserve the same chance as the starters to run the full package and score. However, there is merit to limiting your team's exposure to injury by dialing it down and running out the clock to avoid unnecessary contact when you have the game in hand. Why put your #1 receiver in the game up 35 points when even a high school defense can take out a knee?

Absolutely no judgment from me here. I understand fighting for the post-season against the unpredictable, subjectiveness of the CFP. Frankly, I always hated how Richt would shut things down and not deliver the final blow.

Can’t disagree

When it’s backups playing against starters all goes.

you don’t want your starters for next year actually running the offense instead of just handing off?

They were still running their defense and their HC shouldn’t have run his mouth. This is not Highschool these guys are getting paid now.
Stop them if you don’t like it

Tennessee is classless for running it up on Mizzou. 😂😂😂

Nah, Mizzou couldn’t stop us!
Lou Holtz once told story of losing a game badly to Bobbie Bowden, and during after game hand shake he complained to BB about his running up the score. Bowden responded, if you don't like it, then recruit better so you can stop is!

Went to the 247 team boards. UK is rather sad. They basically feel like the Stoops regime has run its course and that he's not bringing the intensity that he displayed when he first got there. The one funny part is their return to the "Oh well, it doesn't matter, basketball season is here and that's all we really care about" mentality.

Alabama is strange. I expected some negativity but generally they are thrilled with the win and talking like they are still int he running for the NC.

Ky fans couldn't possibly be saying that, cause Stoops already disagreed with Calipari saying theyre a basketball school.

didnt rece davis say Oregon lost to Georgia was same as vols loss to Georgia...be interesting to see if they say the same about common opponents
That is asinine. Oregon lost by 46 on a neutral field, still in GA, but still not Sanford Stadium. We lost by 14 in the rain at Sanford. They are not the same.

1. It was out backups. They deserve to play and get real-game experience when they can.

2. Mizzou coach should just keep his mouth shut

3. It is the defense’s job to stop the offense.

4. See #2.

Personally, I think kneeling on a ball shouldn’t even a part of football. What’s wrong with two teams playing until the end of the game? I promise you, I couldn’t care less if a team is winning on the other side and they don’t kneel on it. I’m of the mindset, if you don’t like it, stop it. Coaches take those opportunities to coach.
