You need a team to pile up the score in garbage time to differentiate them from one who dominated a game but called off the dogs up four scores with a 5-6 minutes left? Okay.

It is funny, though, how the media was bending over backward to make Georgia's win last week out to be "much worse than the score indicates". So which is it, football "experts" in the media and on the committee?

Can you maybe rephrase? I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.

Even Hubbs and Price were talking about UT needing to score "style points" because their last 3 opponents aren't very good. Even if UT beats Vandy and USCe in similar fashion... it is possible UT doesn't get into the playoff. TCU beat Texas which will impress voters. USC can still finish as a 1 loss Pac12 champion. And bias could very easily push the loser of Michigan-OSU into the playoff ahead of UT.

UT needs to win and win big. The bad news is that MU is probably a better team than the next two.

Also... UT played poorly enough on D to give the media and committee an excuse. They have to play a lot better these last two games if UT is going to get in.

I think even with Tennessee finishing 11-1 they will be on the outside looking in and will be in New Orleans for New Year's.

As horrible as Milton was last year, NO WAY I would tell him or backups to take a knee. In this case, build their confidence, who cares about everyone else's feelings. We've got a team to rebuild. JMO

Commentary: I've come to believe that Milton was never horrible, rather, he was uncoached. Sort of Butchified until Heupel came along.

I’m trying to Google how many of these people are on the playoff committee. Turns out zero.

This will be necessary as we fend off teams who play better teams than we do - inclding conference championships - the rest of the way. Margin of victory is our only plus. Oh, and USC scored a TD with 30 seconds left vs a 1-9 Colorado team Friday night. If TCU wins out, that’s our main competition. No one said a word about them.
