I don't think it's got anything to do with Pearl. I think it's more that he's got aspirations to be a one-and-done player, and if that's the case, he'll end up in Memphis where there's no intraconference talent (comparable to others, of course). He'll be able to showcase himself better in a weaker conference, versus going to UT and developing himself in a more competitive environment. That said, I think he's gonna be in blue. Sad.

He is a shaman. I've never seen him, but I would guess that he is dark-skinned, shirtless, covered up in body paint, and wears a neckless of animal claws. He must carry a spear too, but I can imagine that gets in the way of typing.

I live in memphis but I bleed orange...I do watch Memphis basket, but one thing I don't understand is why do people think just becasue they player chooses memphis over UT that they won't be any good becuase they play in a weaker conference..Does Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans ring a bell..

some people think UTK still has an outside shot. However, I would think if he was truly interested in UTK, he would wait until the late signing period to see what happens with this Pearl mess. Hes been solid on Memphis since starting high school but said if any other schools impressed him then he would give serious consideration.

Trying to overshadow the Kendrick debacle

Kendricks issues have been well known by the staff since before he was even recruited heavily. This is not a debacle by any means despite what the local media wants to make of it. Kendrick has issues but the staff has always thought he can, and will, overcome such issues.

Players like that are pretty much ready for the NBA out of high school. It really doesn't matter where they play at.

Agreed! The K is unneccesary.

Sorry fellas, I forget your sensitivity to the "K" however I post on several sites and they are not Vol related therefore I have to differentiate for the most part. I also have a lot of friends that went to UTM and UTC so I stick with the three letter abbv.

If you're talking about athletics, it's UT. Adding the "k" outside of a academic university system discussion is blatant trolling. We're Tennessee on the court and field, not Tennessee-Knoxville. Deal with it.

Well good for them.

But at the moment, the Kendrick debacle is the only news coming out of Memphis hoops.

Right. There wasnt any news about our Memphis Madness, top ten backcourt in the NCAA, or top-3 recruiting class taking the floor for the first time.

I never said anything about them not being good. They're very good. So is Adonis. Does a high school bball star playing against junior highers not stand out more? If he had better competition in a better conference, he would have to work harder, therefore improving his skill set. That's all. JMO.

It sounds like you're rooting against UT basketball and for UT football. If so, you're not Vol. I am not even addressing UM. I see that you're from Memphis. I just don't understand why a UT football fan would prefer that UT basketball not be successful. It's one thing to not care one way or the other about basketball; it's another thing to, if I'm following correctly, prefer that UT basketball be on the level of UM football. I may be inferring way too much, but that's what it sounds like.
