Adonis Thomas to announce today

You would be right on target except Memphis doesn't play all these teams. I really think he was asking what six teams in their conference will beat them.

Kentucky is not very good without Kanter. they have very little post presence at the moment. I was referring to the teams in CUSA but I could see where those teams in the SEC you mentioned might take one from us. We are really young but we also have a lot of talent and some key veterans as well.

You didn't understand his point. He'll be able to put up better numbers in ConfUSA than he would in SEC. That's only natural. Rose would still be the player he is had he gone to UT/UF/UK, but his numbers might have taken a hit due to the level of competition being higher.Posted via VolNation Mobile

That's an opinion. Here are the facts. Tigers played an OOC schedule that year that was Top5 and had a deep run against premium teams in NCAAs. Rose was solid to dominating against those teams. Proof, see PTS/REB/ASST below:

Cincy 26/4/6
Oklahoma 17/5/3
UCONN 24/6/0
USC 9/10/4
#3 Georgetown 18/3/6
#19 Arizona 12/3/5
#18 Gonzaga 19/8/9
#2 UT 23/5/5
Miss. St 17/9/7
Mich. St. 27/4/5
#8 Texas 21/6/9
#4 UCLA 25/9/4
#3 Kansas 18/6/8

MT, our talent level is pretty similar between both schools, and Bruce IS the better bench coach. Without Cal to change Pastner's diapers he hasn't shown much in the coaching dept. This year is a year that could prove to put a lil fire under CJP's seat if UM fails as epically as I think they will. 6 or more conference losses coupled with a poor OOC record = CJP earning his first grey hairs this season. He has the pieces, but the jury is still out on if he can fit the puzzle together.

24-10 with a patch work squad of 1 returning starter, 2 role players, a transfer, and a bunch of walk ons is impressive. The team played hard in every game, never gave up, even though they were overmatched in every OOC game and a handful of CUSA games. Because of JPs ability to adjust to the flow during a game, this bunch of scrubs were a missed 3 PT from beating #1 Kansas at the buzzer. This bunch will run through CUSA with no more than 1 loss. They will beat KU in StL and UT in Knoxville.

Don't get too carried away. They won't beat KU or UT.

The one thing you must not discount is although we have three key freshmen this year, they all have played together for two years. This was one of the problems with UNC last season. They had all that talent but none of those guys even knew each other before arriving on campus really. Our guys have played against each other as well as on the same team for years.

Something else that is unique about our city is we have a summer league that is free to the public per NCAA rules and has no affiliation with the U of M coaching staff as they are not allowed to attend the games. This summer league consisted of 12 teams this year filled with former high school and NBA great in Memphis, current NCAA players from Memphis playing locally or away including one from UNC and one from Mizzou, as well as current and former NBA players. These kids all played together against some of the best talent in the southeast in a summer league for three months. We are going to have some growing pains but nothing like is normally anticipated when this many freshmen are important to a teams success.

Homes,

I am not saying I think they WILL lose 6 conference games, I am saying I think it is a possibility depending on how good/bad of a bench coach CJP proves to be. I haven't broken down the UM schedule enough to know much about predicting their record. All I meant by my post was if they have a similar season this year with all the talent that I think CJP will be feeling like he's got a couple hothands in his back pockets. I like UM and UK being up, as it helps our RPI. I hope UM wins em all outside of our matchup and gets a good seed to rep the state we both call home well.

Go Vols!!!

Hat,

That post goes for you as well. Again, I wasn't predicting 6 conference losses. That being said, I think there is a good chance UM flames out this season if CJP can't hold the reigns of his team. Only time will tell

Memphis wouldnt have 6 conference losses in the SEC. Tell me, which teams will beat us? Dont worry, Ill wait.

Tennessee and Kentucky and Florida and probably Georgia and miss state once Sidney and Bost are back.

If you had to play the conference schedule of tennessee pastner would not make the tournament this year.

If grasshoppers had bb guns then birds would f*** with em either.

What is up with you UK fetish? They are decent without Kanter but nothing special. They have no post presence. Why do you think UGA would beat us? Florida is a possibility and I dont have to speculate UTK because we actually get to play each other.

Memphis would be a formidable opponent for any SEC team. Is the SEC from top to bottom more difficult that CUSA---Yes.
