AFC Championship Game Thread: Baltimore at New England (CBS, 6:30PM EST)

It's starting to look like its just not on the cards for Brady and Belicick to win another SB. They choked away two good chances against those horrible Giants teams and couldn't even beat the Ravens today (and certainly wouldn't have beaten SF). You only get so many chances and Brady isn't exactly getting any younger.

So its just not in the cards for the Pats to beat horrible teams? You ever think maybe they just cant beat teams that are better or tougher than them?

I heard all the crap about Manning choking when it matters. Brady played as bad or worse at home against the same team - wonder if people will say he choked?

I'm a huge fan of Brady and I'll happily admit he choked tonight. He played a horrible game against a team that there was no reason for them to lose to.

On another note, I have loved the way Ray Lewis plays the game for years, but with all the media attention and interviews his pending retirement has brought, I find his endless ranting about God very tiresome.

The Pats and Ravens were very close this year and there's no reason NE shouldn't have beat them at home. The Giants teams they lost the SB were flat out garbage. Between their two SB winning teams they lost 13 games. Just more proof that the regular season is nothing more than a meaningless exercise of 16 exhibition games.

Hopefully Shannon Sharpe doesn't fall off his high horse. Sounds like it would be a long and painful fall. Belichick isn't contractually obligated to do post game interviews, so if he wants to go to the locker room that's his call. I doubt he cares whether it not he wins any popularity contests.

I don't really recall Belichick getting horribly outcoached in any of those games. At the same time I don't recall him significantly outcoaching the opposition the way he was in the early 00's when the Pats were winning Super Bowls. His players certainly got outplayed.

Yeah, I don't really see the problem here either.

You mean back when he was stealing plays? Amazing how much that can help, isnt it?

It's pretty much SOP that the losing coach gets interviewed and does the PC - that's basically the expectation.

Sure he can decline but to me it makes him look like he puts himself above the league because he either isn't "up for it" or thinks it's BS. Either way, he looks smaller for it IMO.

Maybe, but it's pretty much in line with everything he's done for the past decade. At least he's consistent. If people don't like the guy, that's fine, and I can even understand why they wouldn't, but I'm pretty sure their mind was made up LONG before he skipped the interview tonight.

You're right, he was definitely the only one doing that. I bet you think the Saints were the only team who ran a defensive bounty system as well.

No, i dont and i also didn't have a huge problem with the bounty thing, im sure most teams did it and i even hate the Saints...but not as much as the Pats

I think he's the best coach in the NFL but he's a penis. It was a puss move to ditch the PC.
