Alabama doesn’t scare me with their new head coach. We go in to that dump of a stadium and beat them 48-16. Their defense is soft just like their west coast “coach” is. Maybe more of their players can throw temper tantrums and show the coaches that nobody respects them. That includes Heupel, who will run it up on them.

We finish off the season beating the absolute life out of sunbelt Billy and Diego Poverty.

SECCG and Playoffs will be a different story but next year we should book our ticket to Atlanta or it will be a disappointment.

Too early to call wins given the portal, player(s) improvement, injuries, coaching & strategy changes... but not too early to wish for history to repeat itself.

Jan98 we lost 42-17 to national champ Huskers. Familiar score? Will OSU win out this year?

Started the '98 season with a thrilling win over Syracuse... I'm good with a one point win to start 2025. If there is a game for a Vol fan stadium takeover, it's this one IMO. I want to be there & so should you.

And, since I'm in a wish mode... linebacker leadership/play & that speedy receiver streaking downfield for scores is on my list. Don't know if I'll ever see another Al Wilson & Peerless Price together on a Vol team, but I can still say thx to those guys (as well as other '98ers)

I don’t think so.

Quarterback edge goes to 98. Tee was drafted and played in the league a bit, Clausen wasn’t.

Running back edge goes to 98. Jamal, Henry, Stephens, Bryson. Tee was a threat with his legs.

Receiver/TE edge goes to 01. Washington, Stallworth, Witten is a great collegiate trio. But Peerless makes this close.

OL edge goes to 98. Clifton and Coleman were early picks and long time pros.

DL edge goes to 01. Those two first rounders in the middle were monsters. But Shaun Ellis and Darwin Walker were long time pros.

LB edge goes to 98. It would probably go to 98 with just Raynoch and Westmoreland. Add in Al Wilson and it’s a clear cut decision.

DBs go to 98. Grant and Goodrich are two of the best we have had at their respective positions. 01 makes this one very close though because they had 4 pros.

ST maybe a slight edge to 01 since Dustin Colquitt was the punter and Walls was a pretty good kicker. Jeff Hall from the 98 team was as clutch as they come though.

98 was a little more talented. It also had Al Wilson’s leadership and Cutcliffe calling plays.

You obviously haven't watched us play on the Road and when did we last beat GA in Neyland. There's atleast 3 losses on our schedule. At Ala, At Fla and GA at home. Until we can show we can win in Tuscalooser, at the Swamp and just beat GA anywhere, those have to be assumed losses.

At least it’s a neutral field game. I remember playing up there in 98. We were saved by a very questionable PI call on that last drive. Then Tee scrambled and we avoided the upset. The Syracuse fans still get upset remembering that call just as we do with the Gaffney “catch.” Sometimes the refs help you and sometimes they kill you.

Beating uga at home, and/or at least one of UF/bama on the road would be a huge catalyst. One game at a time though. Syracuse will not be a pushover. And hopefully uga doesn’t have a qb figured out.
