You are laughable. Those staffs are getting great players because they've had success lately and there are loads of studs in their backyards. UT doesn't have that, but will still go down to the wire with these schools for a lot of players.

As a staff, UT's had only been there for 3 months and pulled a top 10. I believe I'll give them this full year and see. If they do it again, you may have to rethink your statement.

I don't think I will, because a top 10 recruiting class doesn't translate into being able to recruit on the same level as a USC, UF, Bama, or LSU.

Add to that, a staff that was together less than 3 months.

What do they do?

How about go out and sign the #1 player in the nation in Bryce Brown, who had shown no interest in UT prior to the new regime.

How about stealing Marsalis Teague and Nu'Keese from UF, and Janzen Jackson from LSU?

How about ending up with a top 10 class in this abbreviated time period?

How about finishing ahead of the mighty Gators?

No those are NOT the best recruiting staffs in the nation. They recruit everything from their back yard, you've got to understand this. UF, USC, and LSU are spoon fed their recruits. Saban is the only one who really travels out of state to get talent. UTs staff is ridiculous. Top to bottom, there is not a better recruiting staff in the nation than in Knoxville...

Lol we only signed 16 recruits last season and had the highest average star ranking of all teams, that is if you use Rivals. I tend to like ESPN because they are the only system that uses actual coaches and former players to evaluate talent. On ESPN you didn't finish ahead of us.

BTW, LSU finished 7-5 and landed the top ranked class. Just because you have a bad year doesn't mean your program will crash and burn.

Sorry man, UT doesn't recruit as well as UF. Hence the reason you take our leftovers or players we don't want. Markeith Ambles for example, and possibly Victor Hampton.

My thing is, none of the above mentioned teams brought in elite talent until they brought in elite coaching staffs.

USC? No.

Florida? Zook was a good recruiter but he wasn't consistent and didn't recruit for depth.

Bama? Please...

LSU? Didn't bring in top talent until the Saban era.

Recruiting became easy for the above teams after success, not before it.
