Ahuna not eligible??

If this truly is all just about a Level 3 violation and not getting the transcript processed in time, I find it hard to believe he gets punished more than he already has. If what you say is true, and the NCAA won’t be pleased with self reporting, there has to be a heck of a lot more involved. This seems so trivial otherwise.

I’ve heard it goes deeper than that, but @preacherman20 didn’t have the same confirmations. At this point, I’m not really sure. Hopefully this was a singular event.

Just think, if he had only abetted a murder, he'd have been eligible immediately. But Lord help anyone who doesn't get that transcript processed fast enough.

Well Trey Wallace put it out there. When you read this, know that he is not the first to know this info, he’s just the first to report it. Like I said, I hope this is a singular event because the NCAA isn’t just looking at the recruitment of Maui

What else are they looking at? I mean he’s our only major transfer.

They’ve said they were going to start cracking down harder on tampering. Don’t be surprised if they try to make an example of us here. Especially given our new reputation as the “villains” of the sport

No good way to spin this. I’m assuming there was some sort of contact prior to his entering the portal.

We should start preparing for the possibility, if not the likelihood that we will not have Ahuna at all this year.

I wasn’t given the clearest info but I think it’s safe to say they’re doing a deep dive into our entire baseball recruiting program.
Lol, ok good for them I guess. Gives them something to do during their 2 week notice before they NCAA is done away with.

The player dad on here would not know. Players have no idea. Like I said, it wasn’t administrative for a missing form. And it’s not the LSU coach.

If you listen to McKee and Rucker, they say:

(1) This all stemmed from Darren Rovell clout-chasing last June and tweeting ignorantly about Maui getting a huge NIL deal.
(2) Maui was widely understood to be choosing between Arkansas and Tennessee. And he was a coveted transfer as the top college SS in the country, so you could foresee whoever missed on him being upset about it.
(3) Another SEC coach (not named, but I understood it to be implied that this is DVH) started making noise about Rovell’s tweet and trying to muck up the transfer.
(4) This isn’t a big deal and should be resolved soon with Maui able to join the team for most of the season.

There is a way to spin in- everyone does it. Whether it's back channeling or not, everyone does it. How do we think Jordan Addison got to USC in football?

They are going to let blue blood basketball and football programs buy players before NIL and then be concerned about this? It's ridiculous.

Eric Cain just posted on VQ and shorter summary saying pretty much the same thing. He pretty much said the administration isn’t concerned that this will be a long term issue and thinks it will all be resolved soon.

If Bama can manage to spin their way out of a murderer being on their bball team and their star player brought the murder weapon to the scene of the crime…I think we can manage to spin this and be fine.
