Aidoo gonna be good

This is the thing that has stood out to me, in the short time we have seen him play.
Maybe the kid is still “running on adrenaline” but the big stage doesn’t seem to bother him.
GBO!!

He looks to be putting himself in better position on both ends of the floor to be effective. Secures the ball and has a great handle for a guy his height and with those LONG arms. He seems to be ahead of BHH on a couple of these fronts, but that does not mean BHH needs anything more than real game experience to close ground. Throw in Tamba next year and we look pretty solid down there especially if ORN is a quick healer and can step into a leadership role vacated by Fulky with JJJ out there too. All learning curves are different, but none of them look cumbersome or out of touch with the gameplan and their responsibilities. Not a bunch of silly reach in fouls and have this defensive positon thing down pretty good. Uros will have his place when we have to deal with road grader bigs as well. I simply love each and every member of this very young but very talented freshman class, including QD and Mashack as future wing guys, it is just real crowded there right now. Even with a KC departure with our current one man class, point looks solid too. I hope all their minutes down the stretch show growth.

Aidoo reminds me a lot of John Henson that played for North Carolina.

While not quite as polished on offense yet, they’re similar in build, long arms.

Not saying he’ll be better but the potential to be an All SEC First Team player is there.

Vols were +18 when Aidoo was on the court, that stat can be tough game to game and not mean a ton but will be something to watch…he was great and just what this team needs at the 5.
He's just active and around the ball. He is a big upgrade over BHH and UP. At least so far but I will admit it's a small sample size.

His defense is already very impressive. Some added strength and confidence in his offense will make him a legit player. Ready to see some lobs, rim running, and deceptive range he has.

Indeed he was.

However, I think he was mentioning in terms of having a long athletic center.

I think that’s what we lacked for some quite time now since Alexander.
I agree with your post although I’m not sure how you read 140’s mind to know he meant something different from what he wrote?

That’s what I meant, should have been more specific. While pons was a fantastic shot blocker and defender overall, having a 6’10-6’11 athletic center is a welcome sight considering we’ve had to watch Uros for a while now. Nothing against Uros, but he might have like 3 blocks on the season.

Usually teams with length in the post, bothered us in the past but now it feels good to be on the receiving end.

I think that’s what kept us from becoming a great team last year.

This might be Barnes best recruiting yet since he’s been here.
