Ainge cracks under pressure!!

His 2 INTs were mistakes for sure, as he had time on both of those. But ALL QBs make those mistakes at some point. He made some incredible throws while on the run that kept drives alive. If the OL had created any kind of running game or 5-6 more pass plays with some more time, we win the ballgame.

Agreed 100%

I will take Ainge over Chris Leak any day. How many times did our defense stop Tebow for first downs?

You have hit the nail on the head. Ainge looked better in all respects that Chris Leak, and I think Ainge is the better player. Chris Leak is overhyped, and he has been since his high school days. Frankly it kind of ticks me off that everyone is throwing darts at Ainge's head. Did you naysayers even watch the game?

Tebow...I wanted to kick my television every time he picked up a first down by running. It makes me want to scream just thinking about it. That was pathetic that they send him in the game and we can't stop him!!! We knew exactly what they were going to do. Our defensive line has a lot of work to do before we face another team. I hope they are running suicides as we speak

It has to make you laugh now that we did not stop a quarterback sneak/draw out of the shotgun...............

Given all of Steve Spurrier's quirks, he had the sense of urgency and killer instinct that Tennessee has lacked in recent years.

I haven't seen that "killer instinct" since we beat Michigan in the bowl game in 2001. An argument could be made that we had it against Cal, but that team was way overrated.

Ainge and the wide receivers absolutely carried this team tonight. Our o-line and defense got abused tonight. That's why we lost.

:lolabove: The above statement is what happened. I don't know what many others seen but Vol423 hit the nail on the head with that statement, that's exactly what happened. Now Eric Ainge showed flashes of his old self, but over all he showed more of the renewed Ainge, so can't blame this one on him. O-Line and D-Line just was not up to par .

I have not had the chance to go back and review the game (I will do this later), but here are my initial observations (in order of importance):

1) Florida's Defense owned us: They challenged the run all night and we did not throw the quick passes (to the corners or in the middle) enough to make their linebackers respect us; therefore, the running lanes were not there. Without time, Eric did not set up correctly when attempting the longer passes, so they sucked.

2) The Gator O-line took advantage of our D-line agression: It looked like Florida's O-line was either trap blocking or they were allowing some of our D-line players to advance far enough to open up lateral running lanes. Did anyone catch this?

The bottom line is that Florida was a better team last night; my hat is off to them. I just hope that our guys can learn from this.

I havent read many posts in this thread but by looking at the headline i almost puked. If it wasnt for Ainge we get blown out of this game. Did Ainge call for us to run the ball on First and second down every drive in the 4th until the final drive. NO.

Our o-line is pathetic and couldnt block my grandma. Anyone who blames Ainge is a fool and obviously didnt watch the game.
