Ainge DUI

Love seeing people get judged at their worst moment and then get kicked when they are down. Some real perfect people on this board.

Just as bad as a drunk driver? Really? Not a chance, nobody thinks there above the law. But if you think scumbags aren't ruffed up from time to time, not beating, but just not handled with gentle hands....your probably a good clean citizen that would be the victim. ..were here for you brother and will take care of you, drunks want get the same!

If my life were on the line after driving drunk and getting in an accident and you, with both the ability and the resources to save my life, chose not to put much effort into "caring" (your quotation marks, by the way) for me, I'd summon all my remaining strength in one last ditch effort to place you in a situation in which you either save my life or watch yours disappear.

This has been a friendly public service announcement from those you have signed up to serve.

these lawyer commercials really aren't helping this morning

Therefore, laws prevent some, if not most, crimes before they happen.

yeah our jails are just sitting empty right now. We probably have the smallest number of people incarcerated in the world right?

Haha

Your right, and we don't get emotional on scene...I can care less....I've never been one to need any ptsd.....like some of the tender hearts we have. I said "IF" a drunk ever killed my loved one!! And from there Its ohh a firefighter must keep his emotions together. ..not if your a drunk and kill my wife...seems pretty simple, figured most would agree, just tells me this is majority under 30 site.

I think you would have been fine with your statement if you would just left out your KPD friends would let you murder someone and look the other way.

I heard on TV this morning that Ainge celebrated three years sober last month.
Now this just seems really sad.

I found it strange that he was on the air this morning like nothing had happened. Not that they owe me an explanation or anything, I guess I just thought he'd be suspended for a bit.
When I was in radio, a coworker got a DUI and had to be off the air for like two weeks.

I'm sure he was talking about pain meds. I would be surprised if he stopped drinking a few cold ones here and there. I could be wrong.

he talked about it when he 1st came on the air. be basically said he can't talk about it because of legal reasons, but he said when he's able to, he'll talk about. he said he's an open book and isn't going to shy away from what happened.

His lawyer doesn't want him to damn himself then.

I'm pretty sure sobriety is sobriety

Yeah, I thought "3 years sober" would refer to all drugs or alcohol.
If not, it's playing with fire for an admitted drug addict to enjoy a few cold ones here or there. Seems like that's just asking for trouble.

I actually remember the tweet. He RT his wife's twitter post congratulating him on being 3 years sober.

Take it from someone who has a sister who's an alcoholic, sobriety is an ongoing, daily struggle. No one is ever "cured" from alcoholism. Once you're an alcoholic, you're always an alcoholic. It's commendable that there are some that have managed to supress it for long periods of time. I don't really fault Ainge for falling off the wagon. It happens. Sometimes temptation is just too strong and some people give in to it. He DEFINITELY should have used better judgement in terms of driving. For that I do fault Eric and he deserved what he got for it. He should've taken a cab or called a friend. The fact that he's a VFL and a sort of public figure makes it worse. I really do hope the guy gets it figured out. I'm pulling for him.

No real journalism or broadcasting loss if he gets dumped. Been living off his last name for years. Obviously that only gets you so far in any direction.

Nah, I like only working 9-10 days a month. And women love firefighters. .especially the ones with muscle and about 12% BF.... it is what it is, thought the world would agree, Liberals

Women love firefighters?? What about the loving wife you would kill for?

Also, would you torture and kill someone involved in an accident who was distracted while texting? That is just as irresponsible as drinking and driving.

BTW, with your "billy-bad-azz" attitude and chest thumping , I'd say you would survive about 15 mins. in most of the places I hang out before someone showed you what a bad azz really looked like.:eek:hmy::birgits_giggle:

Cop wasn't a VFL IMO.

LMAO!

I am one for the serious nature of things and I have compassion for families that are victims of drunk driving, but you can have A beer now a days and blow for a DUI. People are so quick to judge Ainge but yet dont know the facts. Have I ever had a beer and drove...of coarse. Do I get SMASHED and drive NO. Its my guess that Ainge had a few and blew .01 over the limit. Just my :twocents:

Now if he was smashed and drove then that sucks, but I doubt it. Nevertheless, listening to his radio show this morning one would never guess it happened. BTW, whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty.:bash:

Why is every news outlet reporting EA as a former UT player vs. a current Cumulus Broadcasting employee?

I don't think alcohol was Erik's problem. It was painkillers.

Looking through his twitter pics I think he still drank the occasional beer. He didn't look hammered in that mug shot either.

You never ever consent to a breathalyzer test unless you've had nothing to drink all day long. You could have 1 beer and hours later fail the test. I hope Erik wasn't drunk, and if he was then I hope he finds the support and help he needs to stay on the right path.
