how many years are left in his contract with NY? is he out the door or does he have a shot at a career on the bench?

Sad.

A 4th string qb doesn't get many chances in the NFL. Ainge needs to realize that, and fast.

the roster size and who they want to keep pretty much has pushed him out the door by the preseason's end most likely

Wow..this surprises me. I did not realize he had a drug problem, and am wondering if this is something that happened after he left UT? From what I know, he did not have one while here.

So if -- and it's a really big "if" at this point -- Brett Favre conducts his Third Annual Retirement and doesn't chase it with his Third Annual Unretirement, at least one veteran quarterback has thrown his hat into the ring.

Jeff George.

Appearing with Paul Allen of KFAN, George said he'd be willing to jump in and take over, if Favre decides to get out.

(So is it April 1?)

George, the 42-year-old first overall pick in the 1990 draft, last played in 2004. He led the Vikings to the playoffs in his only season with the team, way back in 1999.

In 2007, George tried to get the Vikings' attention, and

coach Brad Childress advised him to "maybe go to a fantasy camp or something like that."

:eek:lol: Good one Chilly!

I really wouldn't be shocked if it was the pills thing. Favre had a huge pills problem early in his career

From the headline I thought you were going to tell us that Heath Shuler final succumbed to his Democrat addiction.

After reports coming out of the Jets preseason stating that Erik Ainge was looking good and working his arse off, the New York Daily News is reporting that Ainge has entered a drug rehab facility.

Here's to hoping for a full and speedy recovery....
