Yeah, multisport athletes are rare, but we have two of the best in our history.... Ron Widby combined these two sports and threw in Golf I think it was, and a guy named Hollaway did ok too..... Never count on it, but never say never..... I would certainly welcome him to campus and let him and the football and basketball staffs work it out.

Oh, no doubt. Let him speak to Barnes, let Barnes tell him “sure son, we’ll give you every chance to make the team, blah, blah, blah”.....all while knowing with about 99.999% certainty that once he gets up here he’ll be consumed with football and will quickly make the decision to not legitimately pursue basketball himself.

Btw, last 2 football players who it was rumored had interest in playing baseball as well were Josh Dobbs and Trevon Flowers (Flowers more seriously I think than Dobbs) iirc. Neither ever played an inning of baseball here.

Kyler Murray, Deion Sanders, and Bo Jackson all played football and baseball in college.

You just had to go all the way back to the 1980s to find 2 of the 3.....and I believe I can safely say that Sanders and Bo were 2 of the 5-6 greatest athletes, out of millions and millions, to ever walk God’s green earth.

agreed. dont want to knock DW, kid is a sensational talent it seems. would have loved to have that type of option, but, is it a stretch to think he may be more a Butch type recruit?

Say what you want. This offense needs all help it can get. Some have said DW brings a certain mentality, I dont know, maybe he does.

I think Pruitt's style appeals to a different mindset. Read into that what you like.

I don't know if he is overrated or not, but I do think Beckwith has a much higher ceiling. I didn't really care THAT much about DW coming to UT or not, but I am really going to be upset if we can't land Beckwith....not mad..just upset. That dude could be a great playmaking TE from anywhere on the field...not just the RZ.
