'20 AL ATH Damarcus "Dee" Beckwith (Tennessee signee)

The problem with playing both football and basketball is the overlap in the seasons. It can be done, but he most likely won't be available to the BB team until after FB season is over since they're carrying his scholarship. So we're looking at January before he joins the BB team. Then it's a question of how fast can he adjust from FB to BB conditioning.

Beckwith may be on the BskB team next season, but I don't see him getting minutes with the loaded roster we will have.

Only losing Bowden, and we're picking up the 3 freshmen "all-stars" along with Vescovi, Plavsic, and Bailey.

I mean I know it’s not basketball related as far as managing football and basketball but can we engage Todd Helton in this whole argument orrrrrr.....too soon👀 it can be done I believe.Deion Sanders managed 👀🤷🏽‍♂️
Pretty sure Deion himself even said that in today’s world it can’t be done anymore.

Wish he was a point guard.... could use another one of those next year.

I am guessing wherever he ends up he will find it tough to be first line in both sports since they overlap, and would like the opportunity to find his best shot at the next level and concentrate on that sport. I have made it plain up this thread I really want him at UT....

Deion played THREE sports. He was a freak.
He was for sure. But has there ever been a bigger freak than Derek Henry. I've followed him since high school. At 250 plus lbs I've never seen anyone run him down from behind. Its almost unbelievable to watch.

Yeah. He can get still be vital defender amd and rebounder when basketball comes around. Before he gets his legs under him so to say.

Good call!
I've seen him run down, but then he just stiffed armed them lol.

Yeah...he gives me hope for Whitehead. When Derrick Henry was thinking about the Vols I was envisioning him as an unstoppable WDE

Do you guys remember the days when we all (well...I did..) complained about Henry getting all that respect and Hurd getting none? We all (I) said he was only good because he had holes a mile wide to run through....well...he still does have giant holes, but he sure doesn't get run down or tackled much in the NFL either. I was dead wrong.

Brandon Jacobs comes to mind. He was about that size but wasn’t as fast as Henry. Henry is freakish.

Maybe Christian Okeye, nicknamed the Nigerian Nightmare when he played for the KC Chiefs. Not quite as tall as Derrick Henry, but weighed 250+ lbs. and supposedly ran a sub 4.5 40. Didn't pick up a football til he was in his 20s, but made some Pro Bowl teams with the Chiefs.

I remember Steve Atwater the safety for Denver knocking him out on a Monday night game.It was a hell of a collision.

What’s more unbelievable is he’s so big and has such a large stride that he looks like he’s jogging... when hitting 21 mph and separating from the secondary

It really is. When he is being chased by a CB or two, I think they are catching him and then they don't. And I'm like, how did that happen?
