'20 AL ATH Damarcus "Dee" Beckwith (Tennessee signee)

He's a gator. Load up in the transfer portal.
That’s my guess as well. I didn’t read anything that said playing with his half brother was a big deal.
What was odd to me is that Chaney and Friend are his lead recruiters, not Tee. I know the coaches have focus areas, but it would make more sense that his position coach and a former Alabama HS player himself would be the lead.

Often momma is the deciding factor.

Another perspective from another site:

Beckwith said his visit to UT was important for his entire family.

“Mainly, I wanted to show my mom what it was like up here,” Beckwith said. “I wanted to show her that if I came here this is what it would be like for the next four years. From the past many in my family went to college but no one really stayed and usually it was a small college. I’m the first in the family to make it this big. I just wanted to kind of show her how big of an opportunity we have.

“She liked what she saw.” For Beckwith, this weekend was about hanging out and bonding.
“We really just sat down and talked about our relationship and stuff like that,” Beckwith said. “It wasn’t really that much about football and that’s what I liked about it. It was people hanging out, having fun with the coaches and some of the players and my brother. It was cool.”

Those relationships with coaches and players off the field are important for Beckwith who quickly pointed out that heading to college is about more than just playing ball.
“It’s one of the key elements because you are not going to always be playing football,” Beckwith explained. “So afterwards when you are done are when you are not at practice or you have a break you want to hang out and relax. So the people you hang out with are a big factor in all of this.”

Next Sunday, Beckwith will head to Gainesville to see the Gators. “I just like the atmosphere there,” Beckwith said of the Gators. “I went there once when they played Auburn and the crowd was unbelievable. It was booming, they have loyal fans. I simply just like Florida.

“It’s down to Tennessee and Florida.” Like Florida, Beckwith finds plenty of things he likes about the Vols including it’s proximity and their offense. “They have a great atmosphere and loyal fans, and it’s closer to home.” “That’s good for my parents too because they could come watch me more often because it’s only four hours instead of 8 or 9.

“Tennessee is wanting to use me everywhere on the offensive side of the ball. That’s cool. That’s what I did in high school.” As for a decision, “It will take until signing day. At the end of the day it will be a gut feel. When I wake up a couple of days in a row and feel the same thing then that’s what I’m going to go with,” Beckwith explained.

Surely this recruiting season has proven that logic has not held up in some of the decisions made by recruits we are after. We now have two reports from Beckwith and his father that Florida leads. He is a Gator unless Florida makes a big mistake in his visit there.
“Florida”...hold my beer

I think those quotes sound good for UT. Distance matters and momma can drive 4 hrs to watch both sons. I think he ends up at UT.
He said that, he did! But did you miss the quote “UF is still #1 “ after the UT visit and he is going to visit UF next?
That doesn’t sound good for UT , any way you slice it

If the game atmosphere at FL and their fans is what put them in the lead?
Holy ****, batman

Him talking about the crowd at a UF game leads me to believe he hasn't experienced Neyland on gameday.
