'19 AL CB Jaydon Hill

I definitely wish no ill will on the guy but I really don't get telling multiple staffs 'I'm comin' coach. You can count on me' (wink wink).. Best case he's not wanting his 'moment' spoiled. Worst case he's giving one (or more) coaching staff(s) the big middle finger.. To me it just screams I'm a diva and a punk....

This has been one of the weirder recruitments I've been involved with. Don't want to speak for @Austin_Price, but I think he feels similarly. While UF became the hot team for Hill over the last week, things were much more complicated behind the scenes.

Hill indicated to Tennessee's staff he would be in the boat multiple times. He could've jumped in anytime over the last three months, too. Yet he delayed and delayed, taking visits to South Carolina (his leader in May) and Florida in-between visiting Knoxville twice in June.

Still, while the Gators had some momentum after Hill's OV right before the dead period, the Vols seemingly weathered the storm. All signs were a go. Until this week. UF recaptured the mo over the weekend. Only it wasn't over then either. More twists and turns.

Hill and his family had several discussions with Tennessee throughout the week. Reports were positive and Hill told us he on Wednesday he was committing to the Vols. There were rumblings that he had filmed a video. Evidently that was true ... only the ending stunned plenty of folks, including some close to Hill.

Hill's recruitment isn't over, either. Evidently, he still plans on taking an OV to Tennessee sometime this fall. We'll see if it happens or if the Vols pivot to other cornerback targets.

Hate that we missed out on both Huff and Bush because of this kid. Thems the breaks, sometimes. Other names will pop up between now and signing day, not to mention we already have two good ones committed.

I wasn’t that thrilled about any of the three..... I trust the coaches if they wanted to get and keep their commit but none of those 3 impress me that much.

He’s not a can’t miss talent....next
Not disagreeing. I think if he visits the staff may have a different opinion. I'm like you though, especially if he mislead the staff, I'd tell him to kick rocks. I'd be on the phone with Bush yesterday.

Another thing, if he's lied to you, do you really want that type of character on your team?
