This has been one of the weirder recruitments I've been involved with. Don't want to speak for
@Austin_Price, but I think he feels similarly. While UF became the hot team for Hill over the last week, things were much more complicated behind the scenes.
Hill indicated to Tennessee's staff he would be in the boat multiple times. He could've jumped in anytime over the last three months, too. Yet he delayed and delayed, taking visits to South Carolina (his leader in May) and Florida in-between visiting Knoxville twice in June.
Still, while the Gators had some momentum after Hill's OV right before the dead period, the Vols seemingly weathered the storm. All signs were a go. Until this week. UF recaptured the mo over the weekend. Only it wasn't over then either. More twists and turns.
Hill and his family had several discussions with Tennessee throughout the week. Reports were positive and Hill told us he on Wednesday he was committing to the Vols. There were rumblings that he had filmed a video. Evidently that was true ... only the ending stunned plenty of folks, including some close to Hill.
Hill's recruitment isn't over, either. Evidently, he still plans on taking an OV to Tennessee sometime this fall. We'll see if it happens or if the Vols pivot to other cornerback targets.
