Interesting that chief hasn't commented in this thread with Cox getting bumped to a 4* but did in Beasley's thread staying a 3*.

If you can't see his agenda, then you have to be blind. He pretty much always says the some other crazy **** and then hedges his ridiculousness with stuff like "rarely." And, the reason so many people quote him is that he says the same crazy **** over and over and over.

Ok ... I don’t remember us having this many kids visit and or camp with us before . Did we under other coaches and it just wasn’t this public or am I just not remembering right ? I mean seriously kids seem to be coming out of the woodwork to visit or their own dime .

It was like a government secret under Dooley. And it was more geared towards recruiting weekends with Jones. But yeah, this year is like Jones on steroids.

I remember this kind of camp buzz during Kiffin's year.

As for Jones, you're right about the big recruiting weekends. But I seem to remember them being more about recruits bonding and being comfortable with the staff and less about actually camping. I may be wrong.

I said very rarely. Which would be true. Just about every time we have a 3 star commit, we have a mass of folks who say he's underrated and will surely be bumped to a 4 star soon. And it almost never happens.

I'd encourage you to go back, read my posts, and tell me where I've been negative about the direction this program is headed. I've been as positive as anyone. Perception isn't always reality. The mob mentality on here creates a false perception. It's cool though.

What have I said that's crazy? I said 3 stars rarely get bumped to 4 stars, especially in Tennessee's case. Have you not noticed that over the years?

Think that was more of a disrespect for Jones than the players. If those same recruits had committed to certain other schools or attended certain camps, the same player would have been much more likely to get the bump.

My unsolicited suggestion: Pay little attention to offer lists or star counts.
Instead, follow recruiting reports for other schools recruiting the player. You'll know quickly if he's viewed as a take by good judges of talent.
