'24 AL EDGE Jordan Ross (Tennessee)

I agree, but Ross may be even more explosive. He's played in two All- star games and his speed and explosiveness are second to none at the Edge position. These coaches have done one hell of a job on early evaluations at that position.
Come on man...maybe, but this is HS kids he is playing against...JP is gonna be a top 10 NFL pick, and if Ross is as talented as JP, so will he. I used "clone" for a reason...he really does look eerily similar to me.

He is eerily similar, but more impressive at the same stage of their development. Also, Ross made a massive jump from his junior year to this year and is nowhere near maxing out his frame. His motor is also a step above JP at the same stage, so when I say more explosive, I'm comparing them both as seniors in high school. Not saying a high schooler is more explosive than current JP.

I usually wouldnt agree, but Ross does look at least as good as Pearce did at this age. . . even better really. Is Ross a year older than everyone in his class or something? Makes me wonder how much better he can get.

Jordan Ross shines off the edge

No player flashed more throughout the Polynesian Bowl than Tennessee EDGE signee Jordan Ross. The 6-foot-4.5, 220-pounder lived in the backfield all evening. Ross’s athleticism and dogged effort level popped off the screen. He showed an outstanding burst off the line of scrimmage, pushing offensive tackles into the backfield leading to multiple tackles for loss.Early in the game we saw Ross beat touted Texas offensive tackle signee Brandon Baker around the edge to make a play in the backfield to end a drive. He flashed elite play speed on a number of occasions tracking down ball carriers in backside pursuit. Ross particularly made life tough for quarterback Dylan Raiola, delivering a few pops in the open field and bringing down the Nebraska signee for a sack late in the contest.
Overall, the Polynesian Bowl was another strong all-star showing for Ross, building on a great week of practice that the Under Armour All-America Game earlier in the month. The athleticism and pass rush ability off the edge along with his high effort level has stood out in both settings. -On3

Surely this on3 report means he gets bumped to a five star? He is literally two spots away from being a 5 on On3's website. He is the second highest rated four star right now. You can't write a report like this and not bump..

Why do people care so much about his rating? Literally meaningless the second he steps on campus.

That’s more for fans. Players know players
Sure. But someone in 9th or 10th grade hears repetitively how school X, Y and Z is where the best players go…it has an impact. I remember going from the 80s to the 90s how Tennessee had to overcome negative publicity to get to the place of positive publicity and the difference it made. In the scheme of how he will be in college means nothing, but he obviously deserves it. And we all know if he would have chosen AL he would have gotten it.

And you have experience of this as a player I assume...?

Players definitely check out recruiting websites. How much of an impact it has who knows, but to say that it doesn't matter at all. - I can't get behind that.

No I have common sense. The dude is already a 5* on 247. Him getting bumped to a 5* on On3 means diddly
