‘23 AL OT Stanton Ramil (Michigan St. commit)

Dumb statement is dumb. But even if it were true, QB is far more important than OT
Yeah, I mean you start the team with QB no doubt. Just making an observation. It seems like we have had several really good players on the hook only for them to get off before we could get them in the boat. It has become a pretty consistent trend. It doesn't appear we have any money to counter these schools that are taking them away from us.

TN feeling good about a recruit
AP saying we are in a good spot
We don’t hear much about the recruit
We start wondering when said recruit will commit
AP comes in and says another team has entered the picture for said recruit
All of a sudden our mood goes from feeling good to he is gone and we have no shot anymore
Then the obligatory statements, we have seen this before and next will be why is this staff struggling on the recruiting trail.

Lol. It’s August people. So what Michigan has entered the fray here? There is a long way to go until NSD. Relax. We will be fine.

You mean like Sham, Seldon and Bradley?

If we lose this kid to Michigan State, I will be so sad. I get it. We've struggled for years. But we shouldn't be losing recruiting battles to Michigan State. If that happens, alarm bells need to be going off for Heupel. He needs to figure out what we're doing wrong, and quickly.

@WillAtSpyre - Pay this young man. Please!

Just stop

we've lost a good number of battles this year, but we've won some too. got plenty of excuses loaded.

honestly, we did a helluva job getting the ones we wanted on campus early, we locked the relationship guys down.

we gotta win this type of recruitment. he's high on our board, at a position wr cannot afford to lose.

not sure it's time to freak out, but, Hype needs to be on notice that not everyone is pulling their weight.

Yet we’ve received commitments from some really good players since Nico so it’s almost like your observation is nonsense.

Good grief. You can’t handle recruiting.

Your last point is beyond ridiculous

You’re always going to lose more recruiting battles than you win. Even Alabama and Georgia don’t get the exact 25 they want.

Between transfers and jucos I’ve got no doubt we will find another capable offensive tackle.

Sure. Missing plenty of players sucks. The point is you'll always miss more than you land in recruiting and we may be better off with a juco or transfer anyway given our immediate need at OT next season.

Losing recruiting battles to Bama and Georgia I get, but Michigan State? We can't find ourselves losing recruiting battles to Michigan State unless it's for a kid from in or around Michigan. This kid is from Alabama.

Like we did last cycle with tyre west? We have a long way to go before signing day
I am aware, I am happy with how we are recruiting. Still this is one that would really solidify our O-Line depth. I have also said I think we will finish good on D. I know how Garner recruits. You don’t win all the battles for sure. GBO

You realize Bama and Georgia also lose players to schools on the level of Michigan state, right?

This idea that “we are a better program and therefore should win all recruiting battles” is just nonsense

They don't appear too interested in the JuCo OL out there, and we won't know who enters the portal until after the season. You can't really just hope great OL jump into the portal.

You of all people saying this is funny. I like you and agree with you some of the time, but you will be complaining about something yourself in a day or 2.😆

They rarely lose players to teams like that unless, like I said, they're from that state, or nearby. This kid is in our backyard, not Michigan State's.

A lot more juco names will come up once the JUCO season gets going. The same with some more high school players and this is expected to be a massive year in terms of transfers. Not saying we should rely on it, but I am saying we have options still.

We also rarely lose players to Michigan St. I can't name the last one (unless you count Couch, but that parting seemed mutual)
