JMO but probably has to do with the Taulia play. If they want 2 QBs they know it can't be Taulia and Brown combo because then Bama takes Brown if Taulia flips. If you take Brown then you probably don't get Taulia because you took Bamas backup plan which makes for a guilt trip. So if you want to get 2 you take Mauer and then figure out which of other two you get.

I would take this guy over the other. Worst case scenario let him play another position. He’s much more athletic imo

Yeah but i want the players that want to be here. Brown appears to want to be at Tennessee and even though he may not be a day 1 starter it would be another piece of this class that wants to be here and recruit for us.

Right but he's from Alabama and wants to play at Bama WAY more than at UT. The second Pruitt flipped Taulia, Brown would be gone.

Do you think or is he maybe one of those kids that respects the person/team that gave him his first opportunity and is loyal to that school. Not saying your wrong but the kid seems to me just by the way he looks that he is very respectful and possibly very loyal. I think the only reason he hasnt committed to Alabama is because they arent taking another qb and would only have room if someone leaves. And same thing goes for Tennessee. And not necessarily Taulia. I dont think he is afraid to commit to a school just because someone else was recruited there first. But like i said i may be completely wrong of his character.

Ok was just wondering. Growing up i was always told that if wearing braces without cause could actually weaken ligaments and tendons. But nearly everything has advanced since that point and time.

We all appreciate the info and like seeing “ Rocky Top” but we pull Taulia and that changes to “ Roll Tide” lol . You guys are in both a good and bad spot here . Can’t wait to see how it all turns out .

Makes me question the coaches if they say CB is better than Maurer but took the prospect they thought less of...

I’m also glad we don’t have to make those tough choices , we have the good fortune to sit back and second guess the coaches . ( even though there are so many experts on here ) .

A little surprised, his Twitter seems high on Bama.

No matter how any of this plays out, seems the young man will end up at a good school with a chance very few ever experience. Bet you and the family are extremely proud.

Yeah not exactly bad spot to be in to have a spot at either Bama or TN depending on how it plays out. Only issue is you have to also protect yourself and grab a spot somewhere too in case neither side played out the way you want. I wouldn't blame him for grabbing a spot somewhere else for now

Mauer seems to want to be here and Taulia probably does too but has some obstacles that will have to be carefully navigated.

Sounds like he accepted Maurer commitment then saw this kid. So him honoring the commitment Maurer gave us a negative somehow?

JP has been more clear with us than any other school we have dealt with. I think they are honoring the relationship. Might be a weird comparison but it’s like you have been dating a girl for the last few months that is smokin hot. Built a relationship with her parents, had conversations about getting married and she goes out of town and another girl who might be hotter and have a better personality, but you are loyal and know more about your girlfriend.

JP is being loyal here. And while I obviously wish he would have Chosen CB I think he is sticking with what he knows and being loyal.
