'19 AL QB Taulia Tagovailoa

It wouldn’t matter to me if he came next week or the week after that. Nobody brought this dudes name up (other than Simonton) until Atl did. Then all of a sudden we hear about him coming this weekend. That makes ATL LEGIT PERIOD.

ATL is legit. No amount of swing and misses should ever convince anyone otherwise.

If he was to flip, will it be sooner rather than later?

Nothing imminent. Would be shocked. I’ve teased the “let’s see if the secret QB visits this summer” bc that would show how serious he was on the idea of playing somewhere other than Bama. It’s clear that Taulia and his family are interested in the Vols. I doubt this is the last time they’re on campus, too.

Now, Alabama wants Taulia and they have an interesting relationship with the dad and this family. A large portion of the family has moved to Alabama. This will not be an easy flip, but the family sees a potential opportunity at Tennessee — and conversely UT staff sees an opening.

Again, the Vols face an uphill battle here but the door is cracked and they’re working — however long it takes — to push it open.

Tauilia mentioned to 247 that his dad Is who pushed the TN visit. His dad really wants him to visit and also wants him to take an official to TN during season. I think we have a good shot to pull this off. Sounds like the option of playing vs Tua and doing his own thing is resonating

Again with our staff I think this is already in the bag. It seems like Tennessee has been pushing hard behind the scenes.

Our coaching staff knows how to recruit and with the WR recruits we have committing for next year Tua knows he will have guys to throw to.

Also, it seems like his family is high on Tennessee and how Tennessee is treating it's players, and seems like Pruitt had a relationship with this family when he was at Alabama, so he already had a foot in the door.

I'm just going with the if all this Media attention just came out of no where it makes sense that something is going on.

So I'm pulling for the VOL side and saying that I believe this is a done deal. (We will find out in time)

tennessee’s secret white whale is set to visit again this weekend.

The 4-star alabama quarterback commit taulia tagovailoa is in knoxville tonight making his second visit with the vols this year. Tennessee has quietly maintained a steady and consistent approach recruiting tagovailoa — before and after he committed to the tide. Tagovailoa also has a relationship with several tennessee commits he met on his initial visit earlier this spring. The path to the field at tennessee is obviously much, much quicker than compared to alabama. Taulia is very close to his brother tau, but there’s questions as to whether he and is family want him in that shadow in tuscaloosa.

The vols are playing the long game here. Nothing is imminent or will be decided one way or another after this weekend’s visit. This also stands to be a very difficult flip for ut, but with slim pickings in the 2019 class, they’ve circled tagovailoa as a legit target despite his commitment elsewhere.

I know this: if our QB commit was visiting Bama this weekend, I’d count him as good as gone. Committed QB’s don’t just visit elsewhere for the heck of it.

Poster on VQ said his twitter page earlier today said QB commit to Bama. Well, now it doesn’t. That is interesting

Good point. I’m trying to temper my expectations but I agree with you that there is legit interest on both sides. I mean if he goes to Bama, more than likely he’s just another QB there to win a national championship. Go to Tennessee and win the SEC in the next 4 years and make it to the playoffs, legend.

If the staff decides to place their bets on this kid, they better land him. On paper, it's not good business to go all in on long shots. Already happened with the two Cali DB's this past recruiting season.

Much different situation than the Cali kids. Taulia lives in Alabama now, his family has prior relationship and familiarity with Pruitt, and this will be a full recruiting cycle for this staff.

Just my opinion, but if you have a “ committed “ Alabama qb that’s showing enough interest in your program that went 4-8 last year .. you better be going all in for him especially in a year that has a lower qb talent pool like this year has. What do we have to lose ? We’ve screamed for years that we want a coach that will take chances and not just do everything conservative . I think we got one .

Exactly. Plus, it's not like they have another QB they're really trying hard for anyway. I don't think they feel like they need a QB in this class unless it's him. Or they have a backup option in guys like Mumphrey or that JUCO kid who Helton is supposed to go see throw this summer. I'm fine with them going all in for Tagovailoa
