I never understood him ending up at Thompson till I looked at their staff. HC Mark Freeman is a Bammer Alum and Thompson made him one of the highest paid HC Coach's in Ala when they hired him a couple yrs ago. He makes 121K a year. Tim Castille played at Ala and was a GA under Saban is on staff at Thompson and they have a few others who are also Bammer Alums. They are building a new HS because the old one is so outdated and wasn't the nicest HS around. Alabaster isn't near as nice as a lot of the surrounding cities in Shelby like Helena, Calera and Chelsea. Not to mention they aren't exactly an elite HS Football team or known for winning much. This last year was their best in a long time but did benefit from Pelham, Vestavia and Spain Park having down years.Even Hoover had 3 losses, which is very rare. They also hired a former a Belichic(SP) player to their coaching staff as well who we all know is very close to Saban. Alabaster is more affordable than a lot of the areas surrounding them. Thompson has never been a pipeline to send recruits to Ala either. Will be curious to see if it becomes a trend now. If I was Ala and placing a recruit and his family somewhere Thompson and Alabaster wouldn't be at the very top of the list. It's affordable, convenient to just about everything, has low property taxes, in one of the most strick law and crime counties around, has a small town feel like pretty much every city in Shelby Co, is opening a new HS soon. Alabaster incorporated into their own city school system but they are still in Shelby which has one of the best school systems and a low crime area. I've lived in Helena for 20+ years and it's amazing how much this area and county has grown. I couldn't ask for a better area to raise a child and for him to go to school. I am curious as how they can pay their HC 121k plus the really good assistant's who atleast 3 are former NFL players. Alabaster has a moderate average income per household at 61k compared to 85K in Helena and even higher in Hoover, Vestavia and Mtn Brook. And Alabaster pays their HC more than the higher income areas. Throw in Thompson rarely having good football teams it is a head scratcher.

The LT on that team is huge(6’7-6’8 kid) with big offers as well. Amari Kight is his name.

Also, keep in mind guys that Tua and Taulia went to two different high schools...and nearly battled it out for a state title against each other Taulia lost in the semi-finals while Tua won his semi-final game....so saying that he is going to bama is crazy talk
they went to 2 different schools so both of them could start. It is publicly known that Taulia wanted to commit last year but the parents wouldn't let him.

interesting that the #1 instate tackle plays for Tyson's team and the #2 tackle plays for Taulia's team

The two ideas don't seem mutually exclusive.

UGA is about to have that situation.

And Eason has already transferred. I'd bet my house that Fromm and Fields don't both finish their careers at UGA unless Fields redshirts or Fromm leaves after JR year.

It's a little bit different in HS. Their is no redshirting and you are trying to play as much as possible to go earn scholarship's. Big bro would be a Jr when he arrives as a Fr. He most likely would RS and Tua could be a 3yr guy who knee's. It's different having your kids in 2 HS's that are close together vs being 5 hours away in a different state in college. I would love to land him but just based off VQ he's not the top QB on their board. My guess is Pruitt knows where he ends up. They are obviously a very close family to make the move they did. According atleast to 247 they have Tua's brother as the top QB target with Tyson being 2nd. Ala doesn't have a QB committed and only have 3 scholarship QB's. If they don't take one this class it definitely sets up to take both next class. By time they both got to Ala Tua would be a JR and Hurts a SR if he even stays if he doesn't start next year. They would be in the position to have to take 2 next year.

Amazing things happen when you separate from a county school system and the money stays in your own school system....hence why they're able to pay the salaries they're able to pay...look at how much Pelham pays their head coach...you break away and you're able to pay whatever salaries you want you're not capped to say the least

That's very true. It hurt Pelham when Helena opened their HS as far as getting players from both areas because Helena had to go to Pelham HS. It still amazes me how they pulled off having them all in one HS. Having a 7A and a 6A sized cities all going to 1 HS.

I didn't even realize that. Both are big 7A schools though in 2 areas that have just continued to grow.

That's a big boy. Hell I'm 10-15 mins from Thompson HS but have never really followed them much. But last season they came out of nowhere to go 12-1 or something like that. Hoover won the rematch in the state playoffs. That 2nd game they completely shut down Taulia and his offense. They had been undefeated up till then.

Yeah and George Pickens(Best WR prospect in the country) broke the game open. Hoover has some good young guys coming up too.

They sure do. It's pretty incredible what Hoover has been able to maintain for as long as they have. Especially when Propst left and having to open Spain Park. They aren't always as dominant as they were under Rush but most years are consistently in position to win a state title.

S&C program wins them games.

Thompson started slow that playoff game...had two key drops that would have been TD's on the 1st and 2nd drives of the game...When Thompson finally started going...Hoover called for a fake punt and got it...that killed all the momentum then hoover tacks on a late TD to make the score worse than what the game actually was

George is better than Jackson...when he arrives at Auburn he will have an immediate impact...That Hoover RB is no slouch either

I'll say this whoever commits to Bama first the other is heading elsewhere....Tyson transferred from Mtn Brook to Hewitt so he could play

Yeah, that kid is good moves very well for a guy his size...has 10 plus big time offers...9 SEC schools, OU and Ok State, Oregon and I cannot remember the rest

they had 2 really good receivers
Both are being recruited by mainly non power 5 schools. perfect setup for Tua

yeah I could see Bama getting almost their entire OL class instate. That kid at Oxford is special

I think he ends up at Auburn....They have a pipeline to AU...I think Bama has rubbed Oxford the wrong way since they told Kwon Alexander to greyshirt and he chose LSU instead went on to become a star...now making NFL pro bowls
