'19 AL QB Taulia Tagovailoa

A friend of mine from Samoa was telling me during the game the other night that the younger brother is better. We were laughing about how it would be cool if UT got him and they played against each other. I don't know if it's even a possibility. I just thought it was cool that me and my buddy were just talking about this happening.

well they do recruit kids there which helps a lot. Trussville did the same thing

Oh yea Hoover has been doing that since before Propst. It's crazy the job openings that come up for parents when their kids are great football players. Hell Hoover starts their development before they even get to HS. It's almost like having a minor league for pre highschool development. Then throw in all these training and speed development programs they have for kids that play sports, if their families can afford it. But it's one of the reasons so many HS kids come in ready to play their FR year in college.Youre right about HT too. My ex wife's nephew plays baseball there but they have mirrored Hoover with how they get kids to come play there. It helps that Hoover and Trussville have as many apartment complexes that they do because house buying isn't exactly cheap in either city. I know Hoover has been known to help out with that and I'm sure HT probably does too.

I don't think Taulia is better yet but he definitely could eventually be. He needs to still grow as far as height but he's still a JR so he's not likely done growing. I think lil bro is the top of Alabama's QB board with Tyson being #2. Ala will have to take 2 QB's next year, especially if they don't take one this year. They are getting to that dangerously low # with scholarship QB's. They have 3 scholar QB's right now. Their 3rd guy is a lesser recruited 3* who is a FR also. I would still think they would take one this class if for nothing else as a safety net if by some chance Hurts leaves. Don't think he will but you never know. They have had so many QB's transfer out the last few yrs thats the one area they don't have great depth at. Alabama will take both, it's just a matter of will they go in together. In most cases it wouldn't happen but it's one of the more rare cases where both will be highly rated QB's and the strong family ties that likely wins out. One may not finish at Ala but think they both start out there.i hate Ala but they are in a no win situation if they turn one of them down. Pretty much everything is pointing to both being bammers. Tyson going to play for Dabo would be the only other scenario I could see even remotely happening because of Dabo's ties to Ala and the Bryant family.

His brother isn’t a big guy himself. So height isn’t a problem if the skill set is there.

S&C program wins them games.

They sure do. They also start them learning the "Hoover" way before even getting to HS. By time they get to the HS they know the expectations, the scheme's inside and out and the importance placed on football there. It's really incredible to see the process they have there and it's proven to work. They may not win every game every year but it won't be because of lack of conditioning or not knowing what their job is.

Thompson started slow that playoff game...had two key drops that would have been TD's on the 1st and 2nd drives of the game...When Thompson finally started going...Hoover called for a fake punt and got it...that killed all the momentum then hoover tacks on a late TD to make the score worse than what the game actually was

You're right they definitely did. Hell it's hard to beat Hoover once and Thompson won their 1st meeting last year. The odds were in Hoover's favor to win the rematch. Something about when the playoff's start they take their game to a different level. At one time they were 7-3 with back to back losses to Thompson and IMG Academy to finish the season. Then the playoffs start and they boat race all 4 teams they played that included the last 3 teams all being undefeated. Thompson and Trussville being 2 of those teams. It's like a switch comes on during playoff time. That was probably one of their more impressive runs. 3 blowout wins against 3 undefeated teams, which was also against Paul Tyson and Taulia. One of the more impressive playoff runs I've seen.

Oh I know and their kids will work hard for you. Easy to get a Hoover kid to do something. You won’t hear nothing from them either. They just do work and keep it rolling.

You're right I just meant his brother is short for a QB but he's still like 6'1. I think Taulia is listed at 5"11 but think that's being generous. But he's still got plenty of time to grow a few more inches.

Absolutely! They won't always be the bigger, faster or more talented team but they will almost always be the better coached team. They out scheme and out coach most teams. Being lazy, not busting your a$$ and being undisciplined aren't in their vocabulary. If it is you won't even sniff playing time.

I'll say this whoever commits to Bama first the other is heading elsewhere....Tyson transferred from Mtn Brook to Hewitt so he could play

I wondered why he transferred. The SR QB at Mtn Brook isn't anywhere close to the QB Paul Tyson is. Mtn. Brook runs a more run oriented offense and have some good RB's. He wouldn't have gotten to sling it around or put up the numbers he could at Trussville.P Lu's he wouldn't have to play Hoover except in the playoffs. Trussvilles league most years isn't near as good top to bottom than the one Mtn. Brook is in. They have Hoover, Spain Spark, Vestavia and Thompson. IT was a better fit for his skill set and will throw it around all game. It's crazy that Trussville and Thompson have 4 of the top 10 players in the state combined. 2 on each side and of course all 4 are predicted to end up in Tuscalooser.

He’s not 6’1, he’s 5’11 maybe 6’0 tops. He’s not a big guy at QB.

They’ve got a young CB that will be star though. 10.9 100 as a freshman last year and he can play. Very good player coming up.

Be interesting to see how Trussville does this up coming season in the new region as they got put back into Birmingham and out of Huntsville

Oh yea it gets a lot harder for them now. I didn't even realize it was this upcoming year, I was thinking the following year. They will be in there with Hoover, Spain Park, Mtn.Brook, Vestavia,Thompson, Oak Mountain and 2 more I can't remember off the top of my head. That will be the best class and region in Alabama if it wasn't already. If anyone goes undefeated in that region next year just give them the 7A State Championship. 5 of the top 12 players in the state play in that region.

That was dumb by the scheduling. Keep them separate then let them all make a run in the playoffs.

I'm definitely shocked they have all of them together. Huffman dropped down to 6A and slid Trussville into their spot. All this realignment started with complaints of Public and Private schools being paired together and not being fair. That 7A Region 3 has schools from 3 different countries..Shelby, Jefferson and Tuscaloosa. Not sure why Tuscaloosa Co is in there but I'm guessing there isn't many 7A teams any closer to put them with. But that's a long bus ride for road games and even further with Trussville in there now.

7a was created because everyone got tired of the larger schools beating up the smaller schools....so the state took the top 32 schools by attendance and made 7a....to me it watered down the competition by doing so and created some long drives back and forth for some schools but it is what it is

When I was in high school playing at Thompson (soccer), our area consisted of a couple Tuscaloosa schools. We were 6a back then.

Yeah it was 6A and I was at Minor High School. We played Tuscaloosa County and Central every year until my senior year. Then we started playing Huntsville and Decatur teams for the region. Now they’ve got soft 6A and stacked 7A. 6A is so top loaded it’s crazy. Birmingham/Jefferson County area teams have won 6A-7A the last two years though. 😁

I live 15 minutes from Oxford and they do some of the same things. Anniston use to be the bigger school in the area but the environment is different so a lot of top players there are recruited to Oxford. Saks and Alexandria get a few also.
