While I agree about the Freshman part he just hasn’t flashed in the pass rush department. Now he’s made plays against the run, I think he’ll develop into a run stuffing 3/4 DE and there’s nothing wrong with that.Pretty rare for a true Freshman to immediately look like an elite pass rusher. I think Baron has shown a lot of promise in his limited time. Him and Morven Joseph are both going to be good.
I think Roman Harrison has a couple sacks too... he could also be good with more reps.
Again, he’s a freshman in a very difficult and different season. Not to mention his position coaches haven’t had any opportunity to develop anyone. And the d line coach getting fired doesn’t help. While I agree about the Freshman part he just hasn’t flashed in the pass rush department. Yeah once we an practice as a full team again it will be a more cohesive unit.Yeah, I like Roman, too. This is part of the reason I'm not nearly as "bearish" on Pruitt's future here as a lot of others. The defense is very young and they are still in the top half of the conference. Couple of years and I think this D is going to look very, very good.
Just gotta figure out the QB and fix the offense. That's the part I'm worried about, but hopefully Bailey and / or Salter ends up being the next great UT QB.
