I posted this in the main thread last night. He has been very vocal that he’s coming here solely for Pruitt. Tin foil hat types - maybe Pruitt knows he isn’t going to be the coach going forward and cautioned Brooks to wait.

If they fire Pruitt, losing Brooks is the least of our worries. All our players will hit the transfer portal.

Yep an obvious victory for the NegaVols. At least it gives this coach or the next coach an opportunity to take some transfers... Might trigger even more kids to back off till a decision is made. I hope some have enough faith in UT to give them a full release if a change is made after they sign and before they enroll to go ahead and sign now.

doesn't mean he won't sign w/us in Feb. he's probably wanting to see if pruitt is still here or not.

that's not to say that's the reason you keep pruitt, but it's not an indictment on pruitt that he's waiting either. in fact, you could wind up showing this as an endorsement of him.

I was talking specifically about this one prospect who probably would have signed tomorrow if folks would have deferred their vitriol on coach for a few days. Probably easier to keep a player of this quality after a change than to go find one in this cycle. Way below rocket science.....

Guys, I don't want to panic everyone even more, and maybe I'm completely wrong about this... but hundreds of players have entered the transfer portal over the last couple weeks alone. I've actually been pretty content at how few/who has opted out or put their name in the portal so far this year.

This is not a normal year. I'm not sure what has happened in the past applies to this year much. That's why I've been arguing for stability. There, that's my peace on that.

It’s always a “business decision” to these recruits yet they don’t understand when it’s a true “business decision” to do what’s best for a university.
