I personally would have rather watched LSU and Ok state if for nothing else, it would have been more entertaining.

Really the okie lite team that barely beat an average pac-10 defense and almost lost to k-state in a shootout. Same k-state that got rolled up by an arky defense few days ago.

No doubt. Tonight it was. LSU played flat. The OC called a bad game. Saban called a perfect game on defense. LSU had unforced penalties and bama only had one meaningless penalty. It was a perfect storm for bama. They won and they deserve to be national champs. But LSU has a lot of talent. To think that if they played 10 times Bama wins like this every time is a but presumptuous. If they played again next week it would be a coin flip. But thats irrelevant cause bama won the one that mattered.

The thing is he's implying we don't come within 40 of the top teams, when neither team in this game beat us by 40. That must mean Arkansas is the real champion.

Not a coin flip. lSU might win 2 out of 10, might. There was nothing any OC could have done to help LSU tonight.

So you believe LSU's offense is better than OK State's?

Ridley and T-Bob are the only ones on that offense who could start over in Stillwater.

They would score on Alabama because they would challenge Alabama in the secondary all over the field.

LSU played the game in front of Bama's linebackers and secondary. They made it easy. Oklahoma State would not make that same error.

Bama was coming hard all night yet LSU never ran a reverse or misdirection play to take advantage of over pursuit. Never ran a draw to make the pass rush pause for a moment. Instead it was straight drops by jefferson (not his strength) and slow option reads that got killed by bamas quick linebackers. The OC could have done a lot of things differently.

that's why i put nearly all of the blame on lsu

swing passes for losses even when they never worked
slowest option runs ever (pitches it 5yds behind the line with a defender on top of him)
taking no chances down field

it was one of the worst QB performances i've ever seen and non working gameplan that they inexplicably refused to abandon

How so? If anything, this years results provide the best case we might have ever had AGAINST a playoff. You had one team who clearly had earned the NC over the course of the season miss out on it because an undeserving team was allowed to play them for a title they had really already earned. Events like tonight would become the norm as the pool of undeserving contenders was enlarged to make a playoff possible.

A playoff is no more an indicator of who "deserves" a title than the BCS system, it just awards a title to the team who gets hot at the right time as opposed to who is better over the long haul. That's the reason it's been almost a decade since the almighty NFL playoff system has crowned the league's best team as it's champion. No system is perfect, all have their flaws, people just tend to gravitate towards a playoff because it's more fun for the fans.

No it doesn't. Not in any way imaginable. You win by three or twenty one, doesn't matter. They split, therefore nothing was proven tonight other than the two teams are even.
