I feel like Texas is about where we were right before Fulmer was fired. They will need to choose their paths wisely in the next couple of years or risk ending up like we did with Kif and Dools.

I'd give our players rings if they beat a ranked team in a bowl. When was the last time that happened?

Are you seriously mocking a team for enjoying the fact that they won a pretty big (non BCS) bowl?
It's embarrassing how delusional some of our fans are.

Also I played in a very small high school all star game, and they gave us little rings. Probably a common thing.

Heads will roll in Austin in the spring of 2014. Texas is letting DeLoss Dobbs hang around until then to collect a million dollar bonus that will be due. After he rides off into the sunset, it is said the new AD will be given the power to chit can Mack, Barnes and Auggie and rebuild the lagging dept.

Yes I am, and I would mock Tennessee if we did this. It's pretty ridiculous. If you want to be in the "everybody gets a trophy" crowd, that's ok. I'm going to call a spade a spade when I see it and not cower just because my team hasn't done well recently.

I mostly wanted to point out that Texas reminds me of how it was at UT right before Fulmer got fired.

I think its funny and pathetic on texas's part.

but didn't we make fun of KY in basketball or LSU for doing this also? Can't say its pathetic and funny for one and not the others.

i have no issues with programs giving these player's rings.. they get a ring after a bowl win (every team does) and they get rings for other accomplishments like division or conference wins. the players work their tails off yearly and they get very little imo so if they are able to get a ring showing an accomplishment that is great.

When Brown leaves Texas, they will have their pick of almost any coach out there. They will not hire a Kif or Dools.

Chris Petersen will finally make the jump.

I could see it happening but then again, he already turned down USC. Probably because he was smart enough to see the writing on the wall. Kiffin, not so much lol. If Petersen turned down Texas, it would finally convince me that he will in fact never leave. I don't think he would turn them down though and I'm not so sure he would turn down USC a second time assuming Lane Kiffin doesn't have USC on the verge of getting hammered again. Who am I kidding... nobody should assume that.

This is dumb.

Of course those kids deserve something to remember the season by. They should be able to remember what they did any way they damn well please. It's for them; not for us.
