alamo bowl championship rings need to be mocked. a plaque or certificate is sufficient for that accomplishment.

Regardless of how silly it may or may not be in the eyes of others, most schools do this. A&M included.

I'm just hoping they offer Coach Brown a 5 year extension.

I wouldn't bet on that..if he started a thread talking about how cool or deserving the rings are, the majority of posters would probably mock them just for the sake of crying about something. It's the VN way..thought you knew

I'm guessing you don't realize what all players get for participating in every bowl game. My room mate all through college was a kicker for Tennessee. We used to specifically root for different bowl games because of the gifts and prizes the players would get for each.
Like the brand new gaming system (I forget which it was) when they went to the Cotton Bowl.
Everyone gets "a trophy" at every bowl, win or lose.

I think it's great they get all of the free gifts from the sponsors of the bowl games. The players deserve that kind of stuff, but a ring is different in my eyes. I think a ring should be reserved for championships. Especially for a school like Texas who should be competing for national championships.

So it would be okay if say, Texas Tech got rings for winning the Alamo Bowl instead of Texas?

Do you think schools should stop awarding rings to players for winning bowl games?
