Alas, baseball Vols have weaknesses

Not if the wind is blowing in. Which it quite often does. It not just the dimensions of the park.
I understand that, but we’re not talking about 40-50 mph winds. Blowing in at 10 mph like it’s forecasted today isn’t gonna stop some of our bat velos and the distance they travel.

I just looked at the dimensions of Charles Schwab Field. Have you guys not seen how far most of these balls our guys hit have gone out of the various stadiums??? I had a tinge of BVS coming on this week, but now I'm ready to see them rock and ROLL!!! Let's Go BIG ORANGE!!!

For me, the win over Evansville was as big as the SEC regular season/tournament championships. Big pressure there because the 22 team did not make it. Yes, it would still be a successful season but that loss to a 4 seed is all that would be remembered. With a win, that monkey is gone and we can get on with the business of winning a championship. I think the pressure release of winning that game will propel this team to great heights.
Preach.

In game 2, the Vols started like they were on fire. Back to back to back home runs. After the first few innings it was as if the team and crowd were expecting a win. During the middle innings the crowd became relatively quiet. Aces then scored 10 runs and held a 10-5 lead. Game 3 was totally different. Vols played 9 innings and coasted.

I don't think Tennessee will approach any game thinking their opponent is a pushover. When they win the title, it will be because they earned it. Go Vols!

I have watched every game this year. I keep hearing about LNS being a hitters ballpark but don't remember the other teams cranking HR`s like the Vols have. I
could be wrong. Does anyone know how many total HR`s our opponents have hit this year at LNS?

Sadly we just don’t have the pitching depth to win a championship

Tennessee is playing very tight. The errors are killing us and evidence that we are not in a good place mentally.

Blows my mind why we don't start this game with our best pitcher(s). You need your best for the first game, not the normal group pitch. This is the CWS, not a SEC weekend series.

We won’t score double digit runs every game and give up way too many runs. Several of them were unearned but the walks always come back to haunt you
That umpire's strike zone was extremely tight. Half of those walks would have been outs with most umpires.

In baseball anything can happen with a couple games but you have to look at a big sample size to get a true feel for a team. The VOLS were top 5 in the country in ERA and walks allowed. The numbers say we have the pitching. But, it’s a baseball tournament between 8 teams with a 2 loss elimination. Anything can happen much like March Madness in basketball.
