Verse saw Syracuse last weekend and was at Houston before making his way to FSU. He will head to Tennessee early on Saturday morning. On Sunday, he will visit Purdue.

A decision is expected to come between the end of the weekend and around Christmas.

Albany edge rusher Jared Verse originally was scheduled to wrap up his official visit to Tennessee early this morning and head to Purdue for his fifth and final official visit. All visits have to end by midnight tonight, when the NCAA-mandated dead period starts.

But I’m told Verse now has decided to stay at Tennessee longer and call off the visit to Purdue. He didn’t arrive in Knoxville until Saturday, so it was going to be a pretty abbreviated visit, but now he will get a little more time at Tennessee.

Florida State, Houston and Syracuse are the other schools that have hosted Verse on official visits since last weekend. He’s hoping to make a decision this month, so his decision to cancel the Purdue visit would seem to make it a four-team race, unless something changes and he decides to pick a school he hasn’t visited.
