He's probably referring to your first post which said "frees up police and they can come in if needed as back up" which then changed to "the police will be there with the social worker every call anyway if it gets violent" because even you saw how dumb that wasI have no idea what that means, but abstract shapes are better than what you usually write.
Plus they are even more understaffed than police. What's the ETA for a response time from a social worker? In my experience in LE it takes days for them to respond. Inebriation, mental health? Social workers, EMS, etc refuse to respond to those scenes until police have it "under control" because they actually know the risks.
Jesus, you really did have a sheltered and terrible educationHow does one work hand and hand with someone?

Right. You wrote HAND AND HAND. It's HAND IN HAND. Get a clue.Jesus, you really did have a sheltered and terrible education

You might want to ask someone in charge or an expert, I don't GAF and I am not responsible for it.
And who’s going to make the determination of which bucket these calls go into? What happens if they get out there and it turns out that drunk person is armed and dangerous?Hours before Albuquerque police detained alleged members of an armed civilian group when a protest erupted in gunfire Monday, the mayor of New Mexico's largest city announced that unarmed social workers – not officers – would now respond to certain 911 calls.
The decision came as Black Lives Matter advocates to defund police departments in the wake of the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died in police custody after Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes on May 25.
Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller announced that the city would create a “first-of-its-kind” cabinet-level department that would respond to calls on inebriation, homelessness, addiction and mental health.
Albuquerque to send unarmed social workers, not police officers, to some 911 calls
He has no clue of how real things operate in the real worldYou seem to be the expert here regarding these matters that's why the question is directed to you.
Yet, here you are requiring them to be more responsible and and have additional skills with proper training so they can do their job more efficiently and effectively yet you dont care how or when they receive said training. Not your problem even though it comes out of your tax dollars, unless you're not a contributor to the system.
oh noz, not a TyPO, i am still waiting to hear how police will be "freed up to go on more serious calls and can come in as back up if needed" is the same as "police will be on every one of these calls anyway"
Kind of reverting to Goodfellas. Wise guys you call when you can't call the cops. I imagine there are loads of social workers dying to get paid $30k a year to do these jobs.If your husband is beating you up and you know calling 911 will get you a social worker but calling your brother or uncle will get HIM beat up... who you gonna call?
They know how to restrain someone? What does that even mean? Maybe in a controlled environment but not during an active episode. These people are not going to want to “talk it out”.Did I ever say that police should not be involved? No, I said police need to be on the scene for assistance in violent situations. And I am pretty sure a mental health person knows how to restrain someone.
If you think I have all the details worked about about this, you are hopelessly confused. I like the idea, that's all.
These will be high paying jobs. Most of them don’t come close to making that much
