Well that’s right. Another aspect is how younger folks are reluctant to stand out from the herd because it ain’t PC. Consequently fewer talented folks actually want to excel anymore.

It's classic political theater by both sides. AOC knows the bill is a complete joke, something more akin to a 9th grade "research paper" than actual piece of policy. She doesn't want it actually voted on. McConnell knows this too, so he wants a vote on it.

Well it did take her an entire weekend with a few comrades to compose so yea, just like my 9th grade papers...

Tell me about it. I'm a small business owner and at 64 am still working full time and have no plans to retire. At least not until I've bought a new Porsche. Or will I even be ALLOWED to drive an IC-powered vehicle in another couple years? Better buy a Tesla! Crazy sh!t.

It was nothing more than a trial balloon. Guaging public and Congressional opinion at the moment. Figuring out the baseline and how to ram this through ten to twenty years down the road. No one wants to sign off on it till they know it’s a winner. AOC and her naivety was the perfect sacrificial lamb. Just a thought.
