Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Who's constantly adjusting their standing? Not me.
Trumpism is one of the rarest of anomaly's forcing everyone to adjust.
Again, that's sort of the point.

You have constantly had to adjust where you thought “society was or would be” by now . Those are your words . That’s based on your subjective perception of where you thought we were . Like I said , all presidents are hired to bring change not maintain the status quo , no matter what side of the coin they live on . All you have to do is listen to their pandering to know they all want and promise to change something .

Didnt read a stitch in this thread.
I'm sure it's gold, Jerry.

Not sure why she draws ire she does? She must be awful intimidating to Capt Smallhands. Pretty harmless. Honestly glad we've got her.

My words? My words were since Trumpism I have had to adjust. That is precisely what makes Trumpism and 2016 such an anomaly. And of course all presidents run on change. Forward change, backward change, slowing change, accelerating change, etc.... That is irrelevant. Just as the whole left / right thing is irrelevant. All of that is normal.

Full circle and back to my post . You just continue to evolve when you recognize it’s all normal . Only the temperature changes in the room . Our great constitution is working as well as it ever has , and we elect the ones we want according to it . Trump isn’t an anomaly , he’s just a guy hired by the will of the people , according to our election process to enact change from the previous administration.

That was full circle indeed.
You, and others, desperately try to normalize Trump.
I, and others, desperately maintain Trump is abnormal and an anomaly.
I'm sure we will circle around several more times.
I highly doubt either one of us will be changing our opinions.

Luther, do you believe that in society's march ever left there will come a time they go too far? Also do you see yourself ever ending up "right" of society?

Curious how you feel about that.

Sure, it has gone left to far and to quickly at times in the past. There are lots of people already far more left than I am.
If I live long enough, society could move further left than me. Obviously society changes more than individuals. Some individuals change very little over time, that's why old people so often tend to appear cynical and out of touch.

And how do you feel about getting left behind? Looking forward to being cynical and out of touch?

I understand that it's part of life and the price to be paid for a long life, unless of course you are able to change with the times (at least partially)

I constantly find myself falling into the "old man trap." Having kids late in life and working in a field that requires me to interact with people of all ages helps me escape the trap.

So you preach diversity you just don’t believe in it?

I’m genuinely interested as to when you thought it was too far left.
