Cat fight coming!NY Sen. Jessica Ramos again hits at AOC with Joe Crowley crack
State Sen. Jessica Ramos continued to state her belief that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is largely absent from her district.
State Sen. Jessica Ramos doubled down on her withering criticism of “absent” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, claiming the far-left’s darling is held to a “different standard” than other elected officials.
Ramos, a liberal Democrat, stood by her barbs on social media after getting blowback from other state lawmakers aligned with Democratic Socialists of America who came to fellow DSA member Ocasio-Cortez’s defense.
“Respectfully, she ran on breathing our air. I do see the other neighboring congressional representatives quite often. I’ve met w [Congresswoman Grace] Meng and others. Seems there’s different standards for folks,” Ramos, who represents parts of Queens that overlap with AOC’s congressional district, said in a tweet late Sunday night in response to Brooklyn state Sen. Julia Salazar.
Ramos’ “air” crack appeared to be a reminder that Ocasio-Cortez, at the time an unknown, said in a video for her campaign that ousted entrenched congressman Joe Crowley from office in 2018, “That a Democrat who takes corporate money, profits off foreclosure, doesn’t live here, doesn’t send his kids to our schools, doesn’t drink our water or breathe our air cannot possibly represent us.”
But now, Ramos says, it is AOC who, like Crowley then, has been missing in action. They share office space in the same building but she says she almost never sees the congresswoman or is able to communicate with her.
Jessica Ramos doubles down on 'absent' AOC accusations
AOC won't be held to the same standards. She won't face any real-life consequences. She won't lose her job, she won't lose committee assignments, she won't face censure for her actions. It will all fade away because of who she is, a member of Congress. And the same applies to every other member of Congress arrested with her. Other people, "normal" people, have lost their jobs after being caught on camera at previous protests. But members of Congress get a separate set of rules, especially if their party is in charge. So, let's not pretend she'll be held to the same standard, because she won't.Nah. We should hold everybody to the same standards.
I don't recall it either. I don't comment on every single issue. You're more than welcome to look up what I've commented on relating to vaccines and tell me how it's relevelant to whatever Donjo Whatabout Gotcha you're trying to create.I don't recall you criticizing the previous NYC mandates nor the current mandates in Canada.
I've been pretty consistent. If you're breaking the law during a protest, you're subject to the relevant criminal penalties.
Lol right. Is that the best you got trying to resort to insults. Of course I don't expect much else from you and your sensationalist pals on here.I don't recall it either. I don't comment on every single issue. You're more than welcome to look up what I've commented on relating to vaccines and tell me how it's relevelant to whatever Donjo Whatabout Gotcha you're trying to create.
I've consistently stated that if you're blocking traffic or committing another crime during a protest you deserve the penalties. Civil disobedience has a price and that's part of the point if civil disobedience. I've made no comment on whether AOC staged this and pretended to get arrested or not, if thats what you're talking about. If she was in the street and wouldn't move, she should have been taken out of the street and cited, just like the truckers should have been removed much earlier than they were.I believe you believe that. I just don’t think you’re actions bear that out.
For example, this AOC thing was a staged photo opp. Drawing a false equivalency with the Canadian truckers is ignorant at best and disingenuous at worst.
I think you should understand and probably do, because of our interactions here and in other forums, that I think you’re better than that.
