It's not evidence but neither is it "wild" speculation. 500 light years is nothing in cosmic terms.

you know they did those artist representations after they found planets worth considering. They found planets in the habitable zones and then analyzed the light through their atmospheres. the mere fact they have atmospheres is a good first sign. then they look for the right mix of gasses. there are hundreds they have rejected before they have released any thing saying these were capable of supporting life.
