Yes. We have 2 that we have had cremated and are in our living room now.
I had never thought about cremating a pet. Until the vet asked me if I wanted Behr cremated. It took a small part of the sting away.

They cut off a patch of hair and tied it together and had a small clay imprint of one of his paws made about the size of a coaster. And lastly, they had a short poem written and signed his name. Waterworks right now. Lol.

Sometimes I wonder if it's a good idea for me to hold on. Key word there is ME.

I know this is a dog thread and I have plenty of pics of my babies, but this is our rescue cat who is blind in 1 eye. She has finally decided that my lap is a good place to hang out. Been working on this for almost 2 years. I can move it if I need to.

Cats ain't one of my favorite animals but I don't hate them like I used to. Growing up my dad hated them so I did. I've met a few irl I actually liked and seen a few on Volnation that were cool. Like yours. What's her name?

We have a lot of moles and voles in Nashville. In the past small varmints were controlled by outdoor cats. Most cats are indoors these days so we are somewhat overrun with moles/voles.
The problem is cats also go after birds. I have two pairs of Cardinals that frequent one of my bird feeders. We also have a cat about 6 doors down the street. So far so good. The cat's next door neighbors aren't that lucky, and they have about 6 bird feeders.

Believe it or not we call her Fido.

Screw Micheal Vick. I have no use for the man. Paid his dues and blah blah blah.

PETA Speaks out Against Michael Vick Landing College Football Coaching Job

“After interviewing him at PETA’s office in Norfolk, Virginia while his sentence was under consideration, and hearing him tell me bold-faced lies about his poor dogs, I came to believe that he’s a charming, charismatic, psychopath, PETA president Ingrid Newkirk told Fox News Digital. “But since I believe he won’t fight dogs ever again; PETA is focusing on working with law enforcement to bust those who still do.”

Had all 3 of my wife's cremated. She doesn't want to see the ashes. They are in a drawer upstairs. With the tufts of hair and stuff. She just didn't want them buried in the ground rotting.

Now my two that died while we were still in GA are a different story. The Catahoula was put down for bone cancer and came home wrapped up nicely. Neighbor reached accross back corner of fence with back hoe and dug me hole and in he went. Month later my other dog apparently died of heart break in it's dog house overnight. Was quite healthy otherwise. They started off as hand sized puppies together. He just got dropped in a hole next to the other. Gotta give props to neighbors with heavy equipment though.

We got plenty of moles too. Old farm dog that was between here and my brother house was super skilled at mole detection and eradication. When he died they exploded.

It's a food chain thing. Our last dog to die was ruthless to cats and such. It wouldn't bother the mother feral cat. But, the kittens never made it long. She was a responsible hunter though. All kills were eaten. She tried to develop mole skills but never quite got it. When she died, the cat population began to grow, and I had hope for mole killings.

We have 4 outdoor semi-feral beggar cats now. The family tree started a bit ago, and is 3rd or 4th gen now. Finally got the last one trapped. No future gens possible now. They have left a few moles, maybe 3 on the deck. But, not nearly as many as they need too. One does sit patiently near the bird feeder, but to no avail.

I have an extensive pet grave yard in the back. They are all entombed in concrete.
Myke was the first cremation for us.
Mine wants another dog at times, but after a couple years has still held to her oath to never have another. We had 6. At one point, 5 exsited for a time simultaneously.

Baci - Full blooded Catahoula Leopard. Mine was Chocolate/tan with black spots with one yellow and one blue cracked marble eye.. They are quite varied. My personal favorite dog of all breeds. Breeders are very peculiar and protective of the three bloodlines, and do not puppy mill them. All litters are fine specimens of the breed.

Rocky - A mix best predicted by the vet to maybe be Lab/Weimeranian. Though he was solid medium dark gray with one white spot on his chest. Was not near as blocky all over as a true Lab. Inherited from her eldest son.

Gizmo - A short harired Chihuahua. A gift from her eldest son to replace the long haired one I bought her that got ran over by a deputy.

Midnite - A solid black medium sized/medium hair length mut. Beautiful dog. also inherited from her eldest. He got it at the shelter and thought it was going to be a bird dog. lol.

Belle - A brindled pit mix was was a sweetheart lap dog. Unless Midnite tried to steal her pork chop.

Baci and Rocky died in GA. The other 3 came to TN with us and died here. My wife mourns the same for her dogs as she does family members. Hence swearing them off after the last one.

I've not been that attentive to the remains of the cats. They typically just go over the bluff when no one is looking. But, none of htem have been endeared house pets. The 4 outside now have no names. I made up names like Girl Cat 1 for the Vets paperwork when i had them fixed.

My refusal to get another dog lasted a week before I got Gabby.
We’re at 5 currently. 7 was the max.

1 cat.
