All Beck related discussions from last night (merged)

I don’t think anybody is saying Beck is a bad person. But it’s something I wouldn’t want my son doing on national TV. If he were my son, let’s just say there would be a discussion. But if coach deals with it, I’m good with it. Hoping he did.

I meant “them” just referring to college athletes in general, not specifically Beck.

Peyton Manning mooned one of our athletic trainers. Paid a bunch of money to her twice.

He said it was worth every dime...

If we make it to Nebraska, he may track her down and moon her a third time.

That’s what we know about.

Not looking for any reason to hate this team at all. It was there in plain site without needing to search. To blatantly flip a middle finger at an opponent for no reason other than to show disrespect is just a bully. Bad look for the university. How would you feel if an SEC opponent did this to us?
As has already been pointed out, we do not know the reason for it. A lot of things get said during a game. Who knows what he was or was not responding to. Beck has never done anything to receive such disdain from random people who claim to be fans of this team.

As far as other teams doing things, they have for years. These are young men, on all teams. They are prone to make young people lapses in judgement. I tend to not be judgy in my everyday life. But you do you.

Well stated sir. I love this team and their heart, passion, and swagger. They are edgy and push the envelope. That antic went over the line IMHO and warrants an apology. Now, I think that young man has done the right thing and acted with character 99.9% of the time, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he simply got “caught up in the moment“ and made a very forgivable mistake. GBO! 👍🍊👊😀🍊
Strong emotions make near all of us do things we normally wouldn‘t do in stressful or competitive situations. I bet he regrets what he did.

I'm 52 years old. Let it ride.

This isn't the first team to behave this way. The baseball world hated the 1890s Orioles, the Gas House Gang of the 1930s, the A's in the 1970s, and Dave Johnson's Mets back in the 1980s. I don't mind seeing Tennessee serve as the college baseball villains for those outside our orbit. The kids feed off of it and they don't mind giving the venom back whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Every team is different. Coach Vitello assessed this one correctly in terms of its mentality and its temperament and has managed it to near perfection.

If baseball planet hates us, then so be it. Heaven forbid Tennessee upsets their pristine world of Corbinette princesses and rules of decorum.

If the SEC hates us, then why should we care? Not like they've done a whole helluva lot for us over the last generation.

If ESPN hates us, then does it really matter? We are box office for them and having them in a permanent "stick up the ass" state of mind is good for this team.

As for the bird....

...the real old school approves.

As much as we all love Mike Honcho, let's face the fact that he is a kid. He made a stupid decision and needs to learn from it. If the tables were turned I guarantee there would be a lot more " outrage " on this board. He screwed up. Let him learn and let's move on. I do apologize to the GT fans. It was unacceptable, and classless. Thank go he was not throwing beer bottles at cars off the 7th story balcony in K-Town.

Mike 'Jordan Beck' Honcho did nothing wrong.
He has nothing to learn from this other than the fact that helped knock in the winning runs.
Class has nothing to do with winning and is the default for fans of losers.

These are great kids who get a chance twice a week to show off their talent.

They have fun

Former Arkansas player who works for ESPN/Disney/Largest Media outlet in the United States claimed that this whole team would be tested for PED's.

It was easy to hear that the paper he read from wasn't written by him.

Don't blame this group for being theirselves

The first minute old guys start worrying about their self and associating it with ut sports, is the same minute we get trash athletic programs

I can’t tell if this is a serious comment or not. First, why would you apologize to Tech fans? How in the world were they wronged and how were you associated with it? Secondly, I could care less who other teams do. My life isn’t defined or affected in any way by what college kids do. I’m a fan but there’s more to life than living and dying on the actions of college players. Thirdly, how did we make the leap from flipping a bird to throwing bottles off a balcony? I’d hate to see people’s reactions if Beck had mooned a trainer.

This is the single dumbest thing being discussed. It's nothing. It's done. Move on. If you don't like bc of the "children" trust me they are exposed to far worse everyday. Let Tony handle it.

Between this and the Russell thread, some posters don’t have anything to say unless it’s complaining about something
