All Beck related discussions from last night (merged)

It has been said that it was his Index finger and he was yelling that we are the #1 ranked team, or something to that effect. Seriously, that's what I've read that fans were saying that were there. So take it for what it's worth. It is actually hard to tell which finger it is.

Also heard that the CF and the 1st Baseman were running their mouth all game while they were ahead.

If true, then it's even more awesome that the CF got burnt on Beck's hit AND that he was the one who struck out to end the game...with his bat sitting on his shoulder.

The 1B should not have been running his mouth. He had a key error that let in a run and was also thrown out at the plate.

All this fuss about Beck. I'm just glad he plays for us. Heck, he looks like he could play the part of Thor or Captain America in the next Avengers movie. He hammers balls effortlessly out of the ball park. He runs down fly balls faster than a speeding bullet. Just enjoy the ride people. It's not over.

Just for fun, anybody remember the name of Superman's dad? Yeah, he plays for us.:)

Personally I think what he did and does is great! It gives us a more interesting and exciting game. Had he not done either, finger of bat flip, we would not be having this discussion. It's not like he pulled out a firearm and shot a bunch of people. Let it go..........it's now part of the game.

What's part of the game--shooting the finger at opposing players? Flipping the bat 15 feet in the air? Get real: No, not part of the game. This isn't wrestling--though, seriously, it's starting to seem that way what with the comical number of runs scored in all these games--what is this, little league? where is the pitching?---, all the various antics by players, etc. This was talked about this morning on ESPNU--players flipping the bats very high, other incidents of lack of respect for opposing team. No mention of Tennessee; in fact, there was a reference to another player on another team--can't remember which. In any case, having fun is one thing, but being disrespectful to your opponent is not cool.

CF was the GT head coach's kid, right? And he was running his mouth?

It looked like he was shouting in the direction of the CF rather than the RF. Outfielders are embarrassed when someone hits one over their head like that one, and no doubt Beck was shaming him and rubbing it in. I love to see that kind of emotion from my team - but hate it when the other team does it.

You don't know how much GT disrespected us during the game.

I'm all for the bat flips and excitement. I think the game needs flair. I'm in my 40's and love baseball. My 2nd favorite sport behind Vol football. If it was indeed the middle finger I do think it's a bit too much, but I can't judge someone for getting hyped in a big game. There was a lot of emotion on display from both teams.

I do wonder how many of the people that are so offended by Beck own Let's Go Brandon tee shirts, bumper stickers, or flags though. That's not a political statement by the way. I can't stand any of those people on either side. But I do fail to see the difference if you want to claim moral high ground.

The baseball gods are a fickle bunch, and the fact that we got that Booker call at 2nd overturned tells me they're okay with the big orange moxy. If the baseball gods are cool then it's all good. This is baseball science, this is fact. The importance of the Booker call can not be overstated. The baseball gods made that call.
