My license just renewed...I need to find a couple of new trout honey holes on the clinch...

Fished offshore with my regular crew last week out of Pirate's Cove in the OBX.

Left dock at 4:30 AM. Nice conditions with a light breeze, but we heard one of the charter boats hit a rogue wave getting out of Oregon Inlet and hit the bottom and rolled hard. When the wind blows NE on an outgoing tide, it can be snotty with Hawaii-5-O waves a half mile offshore.

Anyway, we got out ok and made the 2 hour run to the 100 fathom curve just North of The Point. Most of the charter fleet was fishing the same spot where there was good tuna and marlin action the day before.

Lines in the water at 7:00.

Double knockdown on 2 of our 7 lines at 8:00. One popped off immediately, the other peeled off about half the spool from a 50W Penn. Nice fish. Faught her standup with a belt and gimble for 20 to 25 minutes. Really nice yellowfin.

And that was it. Fished til 2:30 and didn't even get touched the rest of the day.

Weighed it in at 87.5 pounds... well over citation size of 75#. Woot!

Filled the freezer that night after alot of vacuum packing.

Fished last Tuesday offshore out of Pirate's Cove Marina with my crew and a couple good friends.

Left the dock at 4:30. Lines in the water at 7:00. Hard triple knockdown at 7:04.

Lost 2, but landed a 110# bigeye tuna. Citation.

Didn't do jack until about 1:00 when we landed a 7' mako shark. Let her go (it was a female) to fight another day.

You’ve lost a lot of weight since your last picture …. And hair too…. Cool belt buckle though….
