All things STOCKS

I got up this morning, logged into my E-Trade account and checked my performance for the past 6 months: 69.69%

Not bragging but more showing off my immaturity

Only 70% Meh! Just kidding.

Was flipping channels, and CNBC had a story on about some 8th graders that killed the market this year, beating the pros that were teaching them. All the group that finished first did was buy the stocks that were already at the top for the year, most notably TSLA.
The teachers said "what an anomaly, now they think that is all you have to do"
They weren't using money,

Not suggesting this is what you did.
I had a couple of stocks that were up 500-1000%. I been selling and taking capital gains in my non retirement accounts since I have a substantial Capital loss carry forward, and almost no retirement withdrawals. Should have a low tax liability for the year.

Thinking about taking risks on pot, energy, and travel for 2021. Don’t know if it’s best to buy today or wait for the calendar to flip.

Might add these ETFs:
POTX
ERX (off 90% +\-)
JETS

I will buy more defense names after the Harris/Biden dust settles. Hopefully they will scare off some support. Maybe FLIR, RTX, and/or LHX.

Infrastructure too if the economy continues to recover. Martin Marietta Materials in particular.

I’m holding a small position in a speculative ammo play, POWW.

My 7 year old picked 4 stocks (Viacom (she wanted to buy Spongebob), Disney, Brinkers, and Cheesecake Factory). She outperformed me.

I could bite on some AMMO. I suspect that the stock will be under pressure when Harris/Biden attack the Bill of Rights. But the revenue will be off the charts, which eventually circles back around to stock valuations in most cases. The key element will be management. Would they build out production capacity too aggressively on a demand surge?

Dang it. Tried to get ERX a few cents cheaper and it just jumped up about 12-15 cents. I’m leaving my limit order at $14.23. I’m not chasing it today. $14.37 before I came here to post.

I’ve often heard to invest in something you believe in.

About the only companies that I won’t buy are the meat companies. But I do own McDonald’s and Wendy’s which my father gave to me. I also don’t like companies that test and torture animals. But those are difficult to flush out. Most, if not all, of Big Pharma do those things to critters.

BTW, Texas A&M does that to beagles. Eff the Aggies.

I'm not sure what they serve at McDonalds is what you'd call meat...

There are very few investment options if you connect the dots on everything that you disagree with. I always get a kick out of the Socialist wanna be SJWs using their smart phones on the internet for their virtue signaling. And the leftists saying how evil our capitalist system is while countries like China, Iran, and North Korea practice despicable human rights abuses.

I pulled everything out right after Thanksgiving to see what would happen in December. I plan on jumping back in next month. Seems like I made the wrong move, but oh well you live and learn.

I know everyone has their own thing they like when it comes to stocks. For me I love the OTC pennies. They're risky as hell but can be really profitable. I've spent a couple years now getting better at charts. Had a couple 6 figure plays this year.. I'll take a 562% increase on the year

I switched from RH to WeBull so I don’t know my exact %, but it’s roughly around 200%

Downside of the last 9 months. Got a lot of short and long term gains in taxable account...

Going to be a pretty penny that I will be paying to IRS around 4/15

Used to love clients that came in to get their return prepared, and complained about making too much money.😁

If it's a large amount you can make an estimated tax payment by January 15.
