All things STOCKS

Please stop. The guy is not in debt.

We know he's not in debt. But before people start investing in individual equities, they need a financial foundation. Although me and @Thunder Good-Oil disagree on parts of that foundation, we both realize that you need it to be a good investor. An investor that has to make choices based on panic or fear is not a good investor.

Thanks brother!

I’ve been in ministry for 20 years, literally living 100% from donations for about 16 of them.

Never had a moment of debt, so while we don’t have much money, we have no debt, thank God.

We’ve set up a Vanguard 401k with Amazon, who is my employer aside from my personal physique coaching business.

I’m going to reference this. Everyone has been very helpful so far. Any thoughts on BABA? Alibaba is huge in China and I was surprised to see it currently down. Not sure if it’sa good time to buy our back away
Nick I got baba at 171 and 150s. I wish I sold it when it was 320. I would say it’s a good entry right now though.

I’d call AMZN and BABA about the same business. So for me it would be a China v USA call. In your case since you work for AMZN, BABA is a better idea of the two as you’d have a lot of eggs in one Amazon basket otherwise. But I’d rather diversify through some high volume traded, billion dollar+ ETFs first before buying either AMZN or BABA. Personally I’d go with the XLF (Financial) or XLV (Healthcare) sector funds or possibly the materials sector fund (XLB) as it has had a significant pull back recently. XLI (Industrial sector) should do well as both major US parties seem to be pulling in the same direction as far as rebuilding infrastructure is concerned.

SPY, IVV, VTI, VOO, and QQQ are the 5 largest ETFs and they are all very efficient ways to get broad exposure to the US equities markets.

Critical week for my $ALK swing. May have to exit and look for a better entry.

As a fitness professional with no investment knowledge, I’m considering this service to help me get rolling.

I know James and respect his work in the fitness industry. Based on what is offered, what do you guys think? I would just begin with a month to see what value is take from it but I’m interested to see if better informed folks think it is value or go elsewhere
thanks!

It's always a gamble; you may make a lot more money with a single index fund. In fact, it's likely you would. No way to tell. Check back in 10 years.

The typical financial advisor doesn't have any intentions of trying to keep up with the market. These guys are "out there."

Lots of warning sirens going off here. Anybody can make tons of money in a bull market. I want to see how people do in a bear market before I invest with them. I've told this story on here already but my daughter is an amateur stock picker who made 4 picks last year. 3 of the 4 made over 300% and the other one only doubled. She was also 6 and 7 years old when she made her picks and still believes in unicorns.

TBH, I think if I were you I would just dump everything into AMZN and relax.

I think $RKT could have another big breakout next month. Nice wedge pattern forming currently.

I’m tempted to add more shares. Pretty much everything outside of crypto was up this morning… except RKT was also lower. It might take a while to get back to $22 but $20-$21 may be a near term reality. But $16ish is also in play. I think I’ll wait until at least late morning tomorrow before making any move.

Clorox (CLX) is hovering around the 52-week low. 24x earnings. Just increased the dividend by 5% to 2.7% earlier in June. I doubt that COVID-19 is a one-off event.

FIB retracement suggests it will likely retest the $17.80 area, possibly as low as $17.60. Personally, I'm just gonna look for any dip below $18 and load up. I think it will drop below $18 by Friday, then slowly climb up to the $20-$21 area over the next 2 weeks or so. And as I said, it's also in a wedge pattern and it should breakout in some direction. The question is, will it break up or down.

Got into Geni today as well on the dip. Hoping I see a bounce in the next 2 days or I'm out.

I won’t be able to provide much value in here but as a physique coach I’m aware of an actual revolutionary anti-obesity drug, semaglutide, that just got FDA approval. It will take time for doctors to be educated enough to prescribe it, but ACAD could be a prime long term investment.

Are you sure ACAD is connected? I just am googling this drug and it seems like you'd need to invest in Novo Nordisk.
