Swingin 750 AMZN overnight, lookin for 1%

As ya'll can tell, I don't speak the lingo as well. You're thinking 1% up in the morning? That may well work.

I follow the IT stuff, and this announcement from the Navy selecting AWS over MSFT surprises me.

Dec 19 (Reuters) - The United States Navy on Monday awarded Amazon.com Inc's (AMZN) cloud computing division a five-year enterprise software license contract worth $723.9 million.

The deal will provide the Navy with access to Amazon Web Services' (AWS) commercial cloud environment, Professional Services and its training and certification courses.

Earlier this month, the Pentagon awarded cloud computing contracts worth $9 billion to Alphabet Inc's(GOOG) Google, AWS, Microsoft Corp(MSFT) and Oracle Corp(ORCL) as part of the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability contract.

The Pentagon said work will be performed for a maximum of five years from December this year through 2028.

I have raw land, but in Roane County near Kingston. Commercial in Collegedale on Little Debbie Parkway.I'm getting a lot of interest for the land near Kingston. We've sold 2 of 6 tracts. 30-60 Ac. each.
I suspect too far out for you. 10 minutes to Kingston. I believe same for Loudon/LC?

That’s nice country. Roane is a solid county.

I’m more of a suburbs feller.

We are in Burbs of Nashville. I know what you mean about HOAs.

I can’t stand power tripping HOAers pushing their rules onto property owned by others. There’s some stupid **** that’s gone on. Like taking homeowners to court for flying gold star or MIA-POW flags. I’ve seen one on YouTube that requires garage doors to be open during the day. So nobody can live in the garage. But those that were complying were having their **** stolen. Sometimes the garage is the coolest room in the house. Good spots for TVs and refrigerators.

LOL, I developed real estae for years, and still have some for sale. HOAs were my biggest problem. Always the worst power hungry person took over as President and pushed their agenda.
At the moment our HOA pres wants to turn our public road into a private road. That causes all kinds of problems, and the worst one is paying to get the road repaved when it needs it. They put it on the Neigborhood webpage, and I made the comment "that will require us to pay for maintenance and repaving". I then received an email telling me to replace the mantles on our outside gas light post. Tip of iceberg.
OTOH, after reading that maybe I should be grateful.

I have a neighbor that has 6 TVs in his garage and watches college football on Saturdays.

Bank of Japan just threw 12 grenades on the global economy at 1 AM EST. Huge, huge development.
I guess my Vanguard Pacific fund will take a beating today.
I had a Primary Physician from Japan who told me never to invest there. That was 20 years ago.
Some things don't change.

Looks like stocks don't care right now except in Japan itself. Bonds, now, that might be another matter.

2-3 weeks ago, thought I received an e-mail from Vanguard stating they have a new settlement option. This one pays like 4%. Did anyone else see that?

I'm searching for the ticker symbol.

may be dreaming?

For those that don't know what a collar is, JPM would be the one hoping that the S&P does NOT stay at 3835, if any of that is true at all.

we don't know the strike of the collar in the downward direction, but they'd make money in that direction too, if it goes below their put strike price.
