All things STOCKS

I thought TD got bought up by Charles Schwab. No?

Schwab bought Ameritrade from that Canadian bank. Before TD bought the discount brokerage it was Waterhouse Securities and also just “Ameritrade”. When Toronto Dominion bought Ameritrade they rebranded it as TD Ameritrade.

That is good to hear. My wife has some funds that was caught up that wash.

Charles Schwab funds are a different animal than the shares of Schwab stock.

The shares will be all over the place. Their banking side is caught up in the crises and has exposure to bank runs.

Their sponsored/managed mutual funds and ETFs should only be effected by general market conditions. The shares and cash that belongs to investors is mostly insulated from the Charles Schwab Company’s performance. They can’t dip into those other than their fees. Otherwise it would be fraud and there’s even SIPC insurance, similar to FDIC insurance, for that scenario,

Yes yes....sorry for the misleading comment. We aren't buying stock in Charles Schwab or any other bank / financial business. No knowledge of the field.

She just had a TD account that was absorbed by Charles Schwab.

In all these bear markets stocks bottomed after the 2-year treasury peaked. This doesn't bode well for the October lows holding.

Warren is overhauling Pilot’s top management today. Kind of odd since he’s known to be hands off and allows the existing leadership to continue making the decisions after acquiring businesses.

Knowing Pilot, their top management needs overhauling.

Warren should also redo the Cleveland Browns leadership team

Warren has had enough time to see how Pilot has been run for the last 5+ years and probably didn't like what he's seen. I think the Haslem's have been more focused on trying to ruin TN football and the Cleveland Browns to worry much about their business that made them all rich.

The CEO and CFO being replaced have only been with Pilot for a short while. Shameek is good, but perhaps Buffett is looking to consolidate Berkshire’s energy footprint and he was a Haslam hire. Jim and Jimmy aren’t leaving as part of the current changes.

Warren stepped foot in a Bucees and realized an overhaul was needed...

I’m betting you’re right. Buc-ees is the epitome of “go big or go home”. They made the quantum leap from convenient store to Quick Trip + WalMart + Fast food joint on steroids. Copy cats are bound to spring up. I’ve already seen Weigels version on “Beaver Nuggets”…..”Nellie’s Nips”.

Both sound like poorly produced porn films.

Buc-ee's has such a simple idea...go into an industry that is infamous for having "not nice" establishments and build a nice, clean one. It's easy to imitate what they're doing; their competitors just have to spend the money.
