Yeah. I think he's skeptical of the rise in the last few years and especially crypto. There is also the possibility that the oracle has gotten too old and market strategies have changed. That being said, I'm not betting against him at this point. He’s been saying for a few years he’s been hunting, but no luck. He’s sitting on so much cash that it’d take a few deals to make a big dent.
It will raise the price of common goods consumed by those people. You know, like food and gas. How is this a disagreement? Are you that sensitive that I called your hero a "clown"?Made up facts.
Tariffs will be used by the “clown” to make America’s economy better. A 25% tariff isn’t going to jack up the February rent by 25%. I also expect the “clown” to exempt essentials from 25% - at least from cooperating “friends”.

And you don't think I want to stop the flow of drugs? Dude your assumptions about me are off the fing chart.
That sounds like something a leftist would say.
Anyway. If crypto is any indication, tomorrow could really be something else. I do not believe these tariffs are temporary like Goldman as suggested either. This is all about keeping the dollar as the reserve currency. Doesn't have dick to do with drugs.
His tariffs are not about the drug war. It's a surface reason for dollar supremacy. Which is what I said. How does this have to do with my feelings on drugs?Crass.
I didn't realize I was inserting politics. I've actually tried intentionally not to do that in the discussion. I don't understand your comment about SNAP though. Starving? So your idea about good economic policy only revolves around if someone is starving or not? Your empathy toward (what I assume) fellow MAGA voters is a sight to behold. Not my hero. I simply agree with most of his initiatives. I’m just pointing out your bull **** politics that you’re inserting into the All Things Stocks thread instead of the Politics Forum.
And food and gas are more affordable when the entire economy thrives. Also, more than 40 million are SNAP beneficiaries. They won’t be starving because of tariffs.
So they have to switch back to a domestic her from Modelo.Kinda crass to believe that it won't impact the poorest among us the most and to basically not give a $hit about it. That's what's crass. It's beyond naive to believe that a 25% tariff on common goods that those poorest Americans consume regularly will not impact financially impact them negatively.

My issue is with pausing tariffs because Mexico is going to put troops at the border. You don’t understand that the poorest 12 or 13% get SNAP benefits to pay for their food? Who are starving because of tariffs?
It appears that Mexico has gotten the message about our drug issues that they’ve enabled.
The trillion dollar trade deficit is hitting the poor much harder than tariff threats. Good economic policy is doing something about it.
“Fellow MAGA voters”? You don’t realize that you are inserting politics? You’re doing it over and over and there’s a thread available in the PF just for you to spew your garbage.
IMO, he's mostly pausing tariffs because they've agreed to keep discussing. My issue is with pausing tariffs because Mexico is going to put troops at the border.
Like the Mexican military isn't neck deep in payoffs from cartels and likely running interference for them.
He's pausing tariffs for that? It's like they agreed to let the cats watch the roasted chicken on the table.
I don't disagree - but it isn't like we won't be paying attention to the number of drugs/immigrants over the next month. If there isn't any tangible impact from the troops being there, I'm sure tariffs go back on the table, especially if they also aren't getting what they want in trade negotiations. If you continue to loom the threat of that over their head perhaps you get some cooperation.Perhaps, and this is more politics than stocks so I'll shut up, but I wouldn't trust the Mexican military to do anything but up their cut from the cartels over this.
Agree. I'm not a tariff fan but a lot of that is just that in my lifetime that hasn't been the status quo and the DOW doesn't seem to like the implementation.I don't disagree - but it isn't like we won't be paying attention to the number of drugs/immigrants over the next month. At the end of the day though, I hope that's all these things become...a negotiation tool.
Someone on CNBC this AM said they "only" caught 45 lbs crossing the Canadian border this year. Someone else then said, "That's enough to kill 10 million people." That's nuts to consider.I think Canada's reaction is more of a "Hey, we don't have drug gangs shipping thousands of pounds of fentanyl and illegal immigrants across the border...what did we do?"
